A replica of her cabin sits at the original location in southern Elbert County. Near Wahatchee "War Woman" Creek. Local legend is that the Indians called her "war woman" in their tongue hence the name of the creek. Supposedly six graves were found near her cabin. That's what I grew up hearing about her. Nancy Hart was the sister of my 7th great grand mother. Making her a 7th great grand aunt. This is an honor.
I also traced my family back to Nancy, via Solomon Morgan which would be Nancy’s brother! Wow!
Nancy and her husband Benjamin are 7th Great-Grandparents of mine. Lt. Samuel Hart Sr is my 6th Great-Grand Uncle.
