As someone who is 30 I would buy one I am thinking about it actually. I do like the aesthetic I have an F250 and a GLE350 and something for my wife and I to just drive around up the coast on the weekends and have that classic look.
Great review! Really cool car! I'm born in 1967, always loved cars from the fifties and this one just fits me! I also like the Chevy SSR! and of course the BMW Z8! So, yes, I love those modern retro cars!
This is sleak and sexy. It drives and handles exceedingly well. It reminds me of the Jag without all the parts problems. Very good suspension. Smooth and quick.... she will get you out of trouble quick if need be. Mileage isn't' fabulous and takes premium petrol but it is so nice to drive and def. gets attention. Mine is a 2003 with Michelin's. Great car. Not for racing at Englishtown, but it is still pretty sweet.
For many years, Ford set their electronic climate controls (for all I know they still do) where it would automatically maintain whatever temperature you set between 65-85 degrees (copying the range from their mechanical systems that also were automatic), but when set to 60 it was for just full cold manual cooling and 90 for solely full hot manual heating. Both 60 & 90 functioned without regard for how cold or hot it got inside the car.
You have to remember the 02-05 T-Birds were made as "Retro's" to the 55, 56,and 57 Birds that is one reason everything is small, as it is a luxury Sports Car.
I bought one of these in 2005 the Anniversary Edition 280 HP. It was OK but not a tire smoker. My car was medium Steel Blue with matching Hardtop and Black soft top. It was sharp for the time.
Ford didn’t want something to compete with the Mustang. They could have slapped a super charger on that 3.9 and it would of definitely been a tire smoker. Personally I would swap it out with a Coyote 302 but not sure how much work that would be or how well the transmission would hold up. But stock ones are going for under 20k with low miles.
I am 65 and after driving different types of Convertibles, also a british TVR V8 powered, I would say that fun driving is on countryroads at a speed of about 50 to 60 mph with sufficient acceleration to pass by our weekend sight seers and farmers on work. Going faster you won't see the environment nor smell it. So to me a comfortable cruiser like the T- Bird is perfect. Riding on my bike is a different approach, concentrating on speeding up and "cutting curves" ....
I disagree that the retro T-Bird "is not for the younger generation." I have them approach and compliment my black 2002 all the time. Especially the ladies...
What part of a 1955 repli-car don't you understand? As the owner of a 2004 Pacific Coast Roadster your review seems to be almost clueless about the nature of what Ford intended this car to be. And NO, I'm not as old as you stated at least three times that you were 33 at the time you made this sorely lacking review.
This is not the rarest 2005 Thunderbird. It's in 3rd place as the most produced, after Torch Red and Evening Black. The most rare 2005 is Inca Gold at 82.
@@edgartellez4394 Congratulations. If you'd like to deepen the sound of the engine, you can install a K&N cold air intake. She'll be a little throatier at idle. Kinda a deeper purr. As you accelerate she'll growl. At full throttle she'll roar. I had my Ford dealer install it. The mechanic worked on race cars on the side. If you go this route, make sure you get the factory parts back for originality. The 2003-2005 take a different K&N over the 2002. You'll also get a bit of a performance bump.
First off this is a great review, I love that the presenter covers all the details. Would that many other would do the same. Great job and thank you.

@@Depressedwarriorsfan6238 i got one. i'm still learning burnouts on it, but it's a fun city cruiser.

2005 t’bird 9300 total built. All are 50th Anniversary but cashmere was limited to 1500 units.

Exactly! It's a cool unique car for the younger generation!
very luxurious looking convertable
I bought mine in June, a 2004 merlot w/white sand, just getting used to it, runs fine enough.
@@mrjuvy49 do you get to enjoy it much.
Smoking is still allowed in the car. Every gas station sells them. 😂

All 2005 T-Birds were 50th Anniversary, however only 1500 were the Cashmere edition and would have that plaque in the glove box.
How much
What do you want to center console size? A CAMPING size? Is an epic car, not an simple Tahoe.
Of course, the 1955 thunderbird did not have the porthole, that was introduced in 1956.
I was thinking the same thing , you beat me to it . Thanks .......
Unless you own one you will NEVER appreciate the car!!!
just like any other volture seller ,,, you could have washed it look at the chrome all dirty etc
I don't sell cars, I borrow them to film. Would have been on the dealer to clean...
yah patato nos it all bullwinkl

Damn , take that WEST Chevy Decal off the rear bumper !!!!! Please , that is the first thing I would do when I bought the car !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree!!!!
They only made 700 of the 007
Nice body not Froed to do this on the cheap.
The interior is just too cheap looking for the price. The instrument and switch gear sadly just don't say what Thunderbird said in the sixties.
I prefer a more modern dash myself.
For … Baby boomers !!
Not a lame car but this is a lame "review"
