I also wanted to say that I check the transformers to see if the copper content is worth removing or not since I am fortunate to live about 4 hours away from Boardsort drop off location, it's quite an upgrade in price from transformer(.10 cent my yard) to low grade(.40 Boardsort). @scrapitall200 No problem. I actually have had it on my mind to ask someone in the scrap community recently about it. what are the most important things to grab versus not de populating versus just leaving everything on. What to and not to, etc. This video was very helpful. I appreciate it.
So, been seeing all these videos on mosfets and how there are traces of gold. Processed 368 grams of various size transistors/mosfets from different sources, absolutely zero gold. Did get the copper tho. Not giving up......have a new pile forming from computer power supplies and old plasma tv boards. We'll see. Also gathering up the ceramic capacitors in hopes of silver and/or palladium
@@silver_salvage_savage I watched a video and he did 3.25 pounds of various sizes and recovered .55 of a gram of gold. I’ve never done it so I don’t really know lol.
I saw a guy from Canada saying you can sell the flyback transformers as a repair part. I see them on eBay with that whole cord going for $5-10 or more depending on the model.
I am really curious to know what is actually left for them to recover if almost all has been depoulated. This will be interesting to know.Thank you i agree a good rendation of depopulating low grade pc boards.
Apparently resistors can contain trace amounts of silver, especially in the older ones. Even some ceramic capacitors (they look like blue m&ms) can contain trace amount of silver. Thank you for watching.
Greetings from Spain, thank you for your videos and your channel, they are very interesting and useful for me... let me mention that you can sell electrolytic capacitors online, without expensive, polyester capacitors and blue ceramic capacitors you can get a price, they are used to get money... thank you
@@fcojaviergutierrezravegarc8464 thank you for watching from Spain, hope all is well there. Yes, thank you, although i was just showing the basics that can be sold to scrap yards or a company here in the USA called Boardsort. Thank you for watching, I appreciate it.
Those are BGA ICs. They are chips and in some cases are worth much more than scrap value. (you have to look up the part number to confirm). Some can be worth thousands of dollars (but not in the case of this board).
If I had one I definitely would use it, but on these boards that I’m leaving the majority of the stuff, it would be too messy for my liking 😂 Thank you for watching.
But, why do you have ACE written on the back of your glove?? I would remove the wire on at least two of you transformers. Good to be reminded of Boardsorts IC price of $8. Well done, sir!
Ewaste Mike sent me a bunch of generic gloves and as a joke wrote ace on them 😂 Absolutely, I will be recovering the copper. Thank you, I appreciate it. Have a great rest of your day buddy.
Those parts (like the Broadcom part) that have no pins are definitely ICs. Those are BGA package ICs and are used for high density IC's, CPUs, some memory, etc. Consider them "modern" surface mount ICs.
Boardsort doesn’t buy them as separate in their own category like other components. There’s so much information I could’ve talked about but I was trying to keep it simple for those of us that just want to sell stuff to Boardsort or scrapyards. But I do appreciate you sharing your knowledge and hopefully others will see and appreciate your comment as well. Thank you for watching.
Good video, I did extreme micro scraping in January. It was so cold here, you really couldn't do anything outside.I was taking EVERYTHING apart. By the way, if you don't mind me asking what state do you live in?
There isn’t any place in that will buy ewaste but it can all be recycled for free, even old tube TVs. That’s why I sell stuff to Boardsort. I’m in Washington state.
@@scrapitall200 Oh I see. Yeah we don’t have any place either. But I think we have to get certified. I’m not sure. I’m not sure though. I can’t find a straight answer online
That’s why I sell my ewaste to Boardsort. I can put circuit boards in with my shred but I wish they’d buy low grade and mid grades like some yards do at a better price. But it’s all good, I’m just thankful for whatever I can get.

Interesting, thank you for that information.
Thank you for watching.
Are those custom made "ACE" gloves?
Yes, ewaste Mike sent them to me 🤣
Good job well done good video thanks
Thank you so much buddy!
Sabe the parts and use thrm to build or fix stuff with. ❤
That is certainly an option for some folks, but I just sell them.
Thank you for watching.
God bless you
Thank you, I appreciate that.
God bless!
Good morning!
Good morning my friend. How are you?
@@scrapitall200 sore, buddy. I over did it yesterday and wrecked my good shoulder.
@@HHRecycling oh no, I’m sorry to hear that 😢
@scrapitall200 that's the way it goes with loading washing machines by yourself
@@HHRecycling dang buddy! You aren’t a spring chicken anymore 🤣
Nice episode brother
Thank you brother, I appreciate it.
What are the flat black chips that look like IC chips? Are the worth the same as the IC chips?
I can’t remember what they are called, but Boardsort doesn’t buy those. So I just leave them on the boards.
Thank you for watching!
Those are BGA ICs. They are chips and in some cases are worth much more than scrap value. (you have to look up the part number to confirm). Some can be worth thousands of dollars (but not in the case of this board).
I appreciate the video
Thank you, I appreciate you watching.
@@scrapitall200 Always
@Scrapitall good video
Thank you buddy!
They are TO92 Signal transistors at 7.46
Thank you, I appreciate that.
Them heatsinks are extruded alumnuim right? Or just the black one?
Just the black one, the others are old sheet aluminum.
You should try use a air hammer to depopulate the board 😎😉
If I had one I definitely would use it, but on these boards that I’m leaving the majority of the stuff, it would be too messy for my liking 😂
Thank you for watching.
But, why do you have ACE written on the back of your glove?? I would remove the wire on at least two of you transformers. Good to be reminded of Boardsorts IC price of $8. Well done, sir!
Ewaste Mike sent me a bunch of generic gloves and as a joke wrote ace on them 😂
Absolutely, I will be recovering the copper.
Thank you, I appreciate it.
Have a great rest of your day buddy.
*is there a difference between a normal toaster and an air fryer toaster?*
Yes but what does that have to do with this video?
@@scrapitall200 idk
@@smitchlego😂 it’s ok buddy!
@@scrapitall200 but do you think there's much of them? *bold*
@@smitchlego big difference between the two I would say. I’ve never scrapped an air fryer or even ever seen one, so I can’t be certain what’s inside.
Hey Y'all
Howdy Scrapper ♻️👍🏻
Hey y’all! lol
Great video
Thank you my friend!
You are welcome
God bless
@@JohnJoe-pf8of thank you!
God bless you too!
This was fantastic, thank you!! Question: Now that you've "depopulated" those low-grade boards, will boardsort still buy them as low-grade boards?
Thank you! Yes they will because there is still stuff that can contain silver such as resistors and ceramic capacitors
Thank you for watching
Those parts (like the Broadcom part) that have no pins are definitely ICs. Those are BGA package ICs and are used for high density IC's, CPUs, some memory, etc. Consider them "modern" surface mount ICs.
Boardsort doesn’t buy them as separate in their own category like other components. There’s so much information I could’ve talked about but I was trying to keep it simple for those of us that just want to sell stuff to Boardsort or scrapyards. But I do appreciate you sharing your knowledge and hopefully others will see and appreciate your comment as well.
Thank you for watching.
hi there. i would like to ask you a question if i can . does boardsort buy from europe?
Unfortunately no they do not!
Good video, I did extreme micro scraping in January. It was so cold here, you really couldn't do anything outside.I was taking EVERYTHING apart. By the way, if you don't mind me asking what state do you live in?
Thank you!
Micro scrapping is great for the winter.
I’m in Washington state!
How about you?
@@scrapitall200 I'm in Central Indiana, but still too far to drive to boardsort, it's about 5 hours one way.
@@John-jl3ky I bet it gets cold there during the winter!
Yeah that would be a lot of driving.
My scrap yard is doing 10 cents a pound for boards but I'm not sure if that goes for the high grade boards I'll have to ask great video 😎🔥
@@PatTattsPowerChannel they should offer more high grade board.
Thank you, I appreciate that 😃
@@scrapitall200 thanks I'll keep that in mind for sure 😎
@@PatTattsPowerChannel no problem
I have a quick question again. Do you have to be certified or licensed in your State to recycle ewaste? What State are you from? Thank You James.
