Awesome to see you getting out on the rock and sending a properly hard route before going into comp grind. I understand comp is important and olympic goals, but seeing professionals push the margins of possible is cool to see.
@@alexandermegosAMInnsbruck 2024 was an epic comp. Rewatched it yesterday. Jakob won, but your climbing looked apart from the akward start way superior on this sick route. This was massive display of your climbing power. So I would love to see you compete in Innsbruck. And you proofed worthy of the harder grades, so bring the 9C routes on ;-)
Thank you so much for sharing! I genuinely enjoy the whole raw footage without any background music. Even the resting part is interesting to me. I really love watching you climb. You always look so relaxed and flowy, even if you're trying super hard. Also, thanks to Chris (or whoeve was filming) for the great camera work :)
Really loved the up close filming/detail bolt to bolt beta breakdown and the changes you went through. Not a lot of videos take you detail through the process/holds like this. Super cool format!
Sos una gran inspiración para muchísimos escaladores de todo el mundo, gracias por todo lo que subis en tu canal para poder vivir tus travesías, un saludo desde argentina
Such a nice video and an impressive performance (especially under pressure)! :) Appreciate the description of the crux up there, I feel like it's pretty rare on a route to have a live comment as it is probably quite challenging logistically (good job on that too!)
@@eskaladin2411 thanks a lot! Yeah it was a little challenging to get Chris close enough to the climbing and we thought it might be interesting for you guys to get a little comment about the sections and holds
Brilliant! And as far as elegance and power are concerned, there are clearly 2 favourites for me - Alex Megos for the men and Michaela Kiersch for the women.
First of all congratulations! It is also great to see the video from my beloved Margalef. But what I appreciate the most is the process of climbing the route here and on instagram. It is cool to see that also professional climber sometimes have to change the beta during attempts. It gave me more confidence not to doubt whether I'm able to climb the route when I have to adjust beta several times.

Looking forward to seeing the rock projects being submitted. Congrats on that Alex, January always proves to be a good month to submit the tough projects! Good winds! I'm going to try to warm my fingers like this to climb in the cold here in Serra da Mantiqueira
jawoll! altough it is clear in the video that this is going to be the uncut send of the route I still was nervous if Alex is going to send it 😂 what a great climb, you made it look easy, every move super dialed.
Great video, amazing send! It's interesting to hear Alex compare beta to Ramon. I wonder how an older climber like Ramon compares strength wise to the newer generations of strong climbers, considering he is still working cutting edge routes.
Amazing stuff Alex! Really inspiring that you are FAing this old classic projects! Also sick to hear Ramon is still trying! Music was a little sad at times… maybe consider something with more energy? Haha
Amazing send, Alex! Might sound dull, but as a non-climbing expert I always wonder why sun exposure is bad conditions.... Maybe someone could answer that question:D
I’m no expert but the other guy explained that it causes the skin to split wich makes that they can’t try the route anymore for a week. Cos it takes that long to heal
Usually sun makes the rock and the air warm, which causes the skin to sweat. Sweaty skin has less friction on rock and the rock also damages skin much faster resulting in bleeding tips.
It's to warm up the hands when the rock is really cold. Some climbers put them on their neck, others on their belly... It usually depends on the resting position.
i understand there may be misconceptions about the situation. But unless you address it, the people will use it to discredit everything you do. Don't let it be a stain on your legacy if you know you're in the right.

Does anyone know what Alex is doing with his hand and neck during his rest e.g. 11:08 ?
warming his hands up. The neck is pretty warm (and dry) and usually the easiest place to reach when shaking out…

First ascent of a 9b/+ from Ramón might be your first 9C FA?😅

Maybe they get sweaty making it slippery

What is the resting thing he does with his hand on the neck?
I'm warming my fingers as they got numb because of the cold rock
It's to warm up the hands when the rock is really cold. Some climbers put them on their neck, others on their belly... It usually depends on the resting position.
