Scottish deep fried Mars Bars are NOT a myth!
I've seen them made and served more than once in Scotland - plus deep fried (and battered!) Snickers, Chocolate Eggs, etc. I've never tried them as instant coronary isn't on my bucket list.
In some places in Scotland, if you ask for a meat pie and chips, a cold pie is simply thrown in to fry with the chips. And it tastes as disgusting as it sounds.
I have tried deep fried haggis and deep fried black pudding, both of which I found very tasty. I've yet to try cod roe, which I was told was once widely available but I never yet found in a traditional fish and chip shop.
If you're a visitor to the UK, and want to sample traditional fish and chips, make sure both Yorkshire and Northumberland are on your route. The best fish and chips I've ever had, I found in Holmfirth in Yorkshire. The second best in Seahouses in Northumberland.
One thing that IS a myth is that fish and chips are unhealthy. Properly made (and that's the trick) and in moderation, it's perfectly wholesome food.

Im Australian and if I was marooned on an island and only had 1 food for the rest of my life it would be deep fried mars bars.

At least you wouldn't be marooned for long. Well you would be but you'd be deid.

Of course, a mide-class Englishman had to mention a deep-fried Mars bar. And a 'comedian' at that

the deep fried mars bar is a thing now, thanks to English comedians making jokes about the bad Scottish diet

Only one problem with all you "Glas-glow" funny people, it's pronounced Glas-gie nae glas-go, so Glas-glow makes nae sense at all.

This show is a scam because all the panelists know what questions are coming, to prove my point if you notice Jo when she is on the show & when she makes a funny quip or joke she marks it off on her Notepad so she knows she told that joke already, and to tell that specific joke she wouldn't have to know what questions are coming
