Hi Ms Love! I was your student before and currently reviewing for the boards. Still, I go back to your video lectures on here for my review. There's a certain type of comfort it provides bc of the familiarity of your voice. Thank you very much for all your efforts miss! I wasn't any of your stellar students (your exams were hard hahahuhuhu) but I've always appreciated your lectures and the effort you put in them (esp with the pandemic and the online classes, your video lectures were the closest to how it would have felt if we were f2f), and how approachable you are. In all my years as a student, you're definitely one of the teachers I'll remember fondly. Hope you're doing well these days, Ms Love! 🤍
I am lost for words for your message, Mikaira. Thank God for your appreciation. You made me so happy. I'm doing good, hope you are also :) Praying for your success in the upcoming board. God bless you.
Can you kindly reply to my message ? What does it mean when your alpha 1 is slightly elevated? alpha 1 globulin Range ( 2.1 - 3.5 g/L ) my value 3.8g/L alpha 1 globulin range ( 2.9 - 4.9 % ) my value 5.3% alpha 2 - slightly high C-reactive 7.2 mg/L LDH 244 U/l Other blood work are normal flow cytometry - normal monoband - negative lgg - normal lga - normal lgm - normal light chains - normal gamma - normal beta - normal 19:30 that is exactly my chart pattern.
Hello! I can see that some of these results were from the serum electrophoresis test. This basically tests the serum protein levels of the body, based on the 5 major fractions produced after electrophoresis procedure: 1. Albumin 2. Alpha 1 3. Alpha 2 4. Beta 5. Gamma Referring to your question as to the level of alpha 1, hope my answer can help you. The major protein that is migrating in the alpha 1 fraction/region is alpha1-antitrypsin (a1-AT). a1-AT is an acute phase reactant (markers for inflammation; they are INCREASED in inflammation). The a1-AT also neutralizes the Elastase in the lungs. Elastase is the enzyme that is released during inflammatory conditions. So if the a1-AT, on the other hand, is DEFICIENT/DECREASED, the elastase cannot be regulated, so the elastase will breakdown the elastin (stretchy protein) in the lungs uncontrollably. So once it happens, it could damage the alveolar walls in the lungs, leading to COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) and Emphysema. Please consult with your doctor because I am not allowed to interpret results. Your doctor can also correlate your results based on other lab findings and your present condition. Thank you!
@@MsLabCuison Wow such detailed answer thank you very much ! my doctor hematologist told me nothing to worry about but what kills me is that he didn't give me an explanation. Like I will never know.
