    Great work! A remote controlled coffin with a plow :D Love it.

    I nearly broke my wrist the other day shoveling snow; this robot is perfect for my place because it can work in tight spaces; where as a full size pick up truck won't be able to.
    Thumbs up guys!

    You could use something like the Oculus rift to control the camera, You could also auto map out the paths via GPS. After removing the snow return to base and (quickswap?) the plough for a hopper with salt.
    This is awesome!

    This is easily the best snow robot I've seen. Great job. Please commercialize it. Most other snow robots are designed by people who have no idea what they're doing.

    When I first saw it come out of the garage and it plowed down the little drive way and back up I thought to myself "pfftttt.. so what.". Then I saw it do the side walk and I thought to myself "Wow that is amazing what a useful little machine!". Think of all the time it would of taken to do that with a human and shovel! Oh and the pain. Great video!

    This is a fantastic idea. I wonder if it can record its plow pattern and replicate automatically? Also, does it have a proximity warning if it gets to close to something or a moving object?

    I've live by the beach in Southern California my whole life.
    I am spoiled and would never live anywhere that gets that cold or snows. I do think that is a wonderful invention and for the right price highly marketable. I am handicapped and would have to hire someone to do that. very cool, no pun. Much better than the messy snow blowers I've seen on tv.

    Hey this thing plows like crazy.
    I think if public services had such things, snow would be gone before you even wake up.
    Less people needed for that, it can be converted into anything,
    and it is eco-friendly!
    Brilliant, just brilliant!

    This is seriously genius and one of the more well thought out and executed designs I've seen. This guy should start a business manufacturing these, I'm sure there's alot of people that would love to have one. Not only is this very cool and something your neighbors could talk about but it could also be a great way to get the kids to want to move snow ^^

  • @spriteremix02

    thats so cool, and fast! i think you need to step it up a notch for v2 instead of a plow, a snow blower, and studded tires for deep snow plowing.

  • @Austimatic
    @Austimatic 14 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Not a bad idea. Only one question. What about major sidewalk damage from frost? In any place where it snows often frost will inevitably be a problem and will always destroy sidewalks. How does this thing handle damaged surfaces?

  • @BlackBlade0001

    What would be a great addition to this is to rig up a snow thrower attachment for when the snow banks get real high in mid winter. This would make a great 'instructable'

  • @SubieSleeper
    @SubieSleeper 14 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Post up another vid if you get deeper snow!
    I'd love to see it in 12" - 14" of snow.
    It might need chains, but I'm pretty sure it's heavy enough to handle that much.
    Awesome project!

    Love this idea! Is this fully operated from your computer? How far is the range if so? Have you considered putting a higher warning light on it? Have you considered adding another camera to show what is behind you [would hate for some pesky kid to sneak up behind it and get taken out!]? Oh, and I want one.

    Other than that the concept is pretty cool i would definitely buy one considering i just gave away 2000$ for a new snow-blower and i cant do the work from my PC =P.
    Bet roboplow can shove robocop to the curb any day =). Gj indeed.

    And for everyone whining about snow depth, whats to stop you from mounting a thrower attachment with a small onboard 4 stroke for deeper stuff? it seems to have plenty of power to haul something like that around.

    I would be interested in either a self-assemble kit version of this (reduces liability on the GENIUS that made this, or if this was at a specialty store, what the cost may be.
