Great video. I've been shooting airguns for over 10 years now and they have went off the charts in improvements with power and accuracy. I basically got started with them because moving to an area bountiful in coyotes and the fact that I was unfortunate to get a record over 50 years ago and after losing two family pets I had to do something that was legally feasible. I might also mention they do get addictive and a variety of ammo options that range from pellet, slugs and bolts/ arrows with calibers from .177 to.72

I bought mine a year ago and love it. It is an awesome gun. It is super easy to cock compared to my 30 cal SS Plus. The only problem I have had with mine was shooting slugs and it would not cycle due to the extra weight of slugs over pellets. Otherwise, it is a great gun and it is definitely an option for home defense. I feel sorry for any criminal who runs into this gun in home. 10 shots as fast as you can pull the trigger and really easy to reload. And at close range it will go through a 2x4. If you buy one be sure to get extra magazines when purchasing the gun. They are sometimes hard to come by after the fact.

You’ll need to look at the FX AirGuns model, specifically the 30cal., Impact. This is not a Daisy anymore Fred. I have taken down a 963lb hog in Texas. Most all of my friends have switched from rimfire rifles to the AirRifle. Best decision I’ve made in a very long time, has become a very great weapon in my arsenal. No more black powered ammo entities to drain my wallet. I can recover my shot lead from my range targets and melt them down to use again, no more reloading each shell, now I use MAPP gas in a skillet to melt down the lead to pour into the sandbox forms.

@@Elmojomo Like they say everything is big in Texas lol I lived in Texas over 12 yrs and their could be some 1000 lbs hogs roaming around. My point was a hog that size is bigger than most young cows, but to the point, I have (2) 30 cal rifles that I know would take down a hog that size or bigger. I actually think I could take it down with my 25 cals. They push 48 grains slugs @ 900 fps which is 85 ft lbs of energy. A direct head shot and I'm pretty sure it's gong down or drop on the spot. It might stagger a few feet but it will go down.

  • @rgilroy1909
    @rgilroy1909 ปีที่แล้ว +7

just an FYI - the pellets are designed for energy dump upon impact. Helping to reduce pass through. Same idea as any hollow point. Slugs are designed for long range hunting, & to reduce bullet drop over distance and drop everything into the target.

For my fellow Canadians out there, this is most certainly considered a Firearm which in Canada is defined as anything that can fire a projectile greater than 480 fps.
So regardless whether it's a sling shot, a pellet gun, a bow and arrow or crossbow or anything else that fires a projectile 480+ feet per second, it is a firearm and has all the restrictions that any firearm has. This would include a paintball gun IF you can get the fps to that level.

81 grain projectile, max velocity of 900 feet per second, puts it around 145 foot pounds.
That's best conditions. Without a chrono, it's impossible to say for sure, but based on the audio, it certainly *seems* like those pellets are hauling ass, so over 100 foot pounds is very plausible. I'd be surprised if it's flirting with 900 f/s on every shot, but 750-800 is more reasonable, and that still puts it over 100 foot pounds. Definitely enough to ruin your fucking day.
9mm will easily be double, and probably more like triple or better the energy. Even subs, since those are usually 145 grain or higher.

Anything under that is legal without a licence.
You don't need a reason to apply for a shotgun licence. The police need a reason to refuse it.
For rifles (including air rifles) you need a reason to own one and the process is much more difficult.

I designed 3d printed resin pellets that go > 1,800 fps out of a break barrel air rifle. They only weigh 1.1 grains though. That said, they are extremely loud because they are breaking the sound barrier. Interestingly, they actually hold together and will embed themselves intact into wood. I tested them out on clay and, instead of just leaving a nice round hole like other pellets, they leave a jagged gaping crater.

@@АлакПатрова Is that a resin printer? You can only really print them on a resin printer because of how small they are.
Also, I would recommend not fully curing the resin pellets so you get a better seal.
I was shocked that they actually hold together. Also, you'll only get really high velocities with break barrel airguns. The maximum velocity of guns is limited by the speed of sound in the media. In the case of break barrel airguns, the air gets compressed by the piston and the temperature increases. The speed of sound in that compressed hot air is much higher than the speed of sound in room temp air or CO2 coming out of a cartridge.
One more thing, you might want to consider wearing hearing protection. They sound almost like a 0.22. The supersonic crack makes a lot of noise.

The jugs ain't leaking because the caps are on them. However the jugs where bullet goes through and through creating entrance and exit. The reason of this is when the bullet only pierced once and bullet falls to the bottom of the jug. It's kind of like hitting a bowl that has a carb. I guess in simpler terms it creates a vacuum. The jugs that bullet went clean through there is no vacuum, air can push through. And if you were to puncture that same jug above the water level I am almost certain the water would pour out of the holes a lot faster. Take the cap off and I'm almost positive the water would instantly drain down to the holes. I'm curious now

I have the "downsized" version of this one, the AEA HP carbiner and it is sweet. I was looking for a regulated PSP gun and the guy at the shop had this one just out of the box and convinced me to buy AEA instead. It is not regulated, but shots are consistent as hell. Mine is the cal .25 and it shoots quite consistent for about 30 shots and fresh charge. Then it goes down a bit in terms of speed and stops cycling (the semi auto) around 50~60 shots.
Piece of Advise: if using slugs, avoid the cheap ones. This gun doesn't like low quality slugs and you can easily jam it. However, Pellets? it shoots anything you put in it and I mean ANYTHING. Although I have to admit that the JSB Hades is the most consistent to shoot of all the brands and types of ammo I've tried (and I've tried like 50 different types of ammo). I have put maybe 1500 rounds with this gun, in fact, I broke the firing pin (made of plastic) around 1200 rounds. I got it changed with a newer and better material and it is the best air gun you can get.

@@intractablemaskvpmGy I took the gun to the shop I bought it and got a replacement. But you can get some online, look for the one that has an ambar color, not the black one.

Check out the rest of the aea line ,especially the Challenger bullpups , you can get big power from these guns at affordable prices, ive always thought the terminator was overpriced myself, if you dont mind bolt action but still mag fed then you can get a much better value gun at about half of the terminator price, I've always thought the semi auto setup on these was kind of gimmicky anyway, while I would love to own one of the full auto guns such as the Hatsan Blitz or one of the LCS guns

With the top on the water jugs unless you make multiple holes (entrance & exit) the water draining out will create a vacuum at the top holding the water in to a degree. It'll still drain over time as air leaks in the hole, but not as fast.

Unfortunately in New Zealand a cop was shot and killed with a pre-charge air rifle, so now you must have a firearms licence to buy one. All other air rifles, break barrel and under barrel lever you just have to be 18.

The velocity should improve if you tune the rifle
Also a portable air compressor is a definite must have in my opinion.
I suggest Amazon, some good options for around $400.00, and a 4 year protection plan runs about $45.00.
    Have fun, good video.

Most high-end airguns shoot over 1000. Furthermore, besides the dial on the side, they are fully adjustable. I keep my Prophet at about 930 and higher affect accuracy at our target of 25m.

I can say from firsthand experience that those hybrid slugs are NOT made for just any airgun. I honestly don't know what they're designed for, but in my Hatsan Bullboss .25 they suck. In my wife's Hatsan FlashPup .25, they're even worse! Maybe they're designed for the high-dollar competition style rifles.
