  • In this video I trim the hooves of a Tennessee Walking Horse. This mare has really beautiful healthy hooves. We got off schedule due to winter weather so they had grown quite long. It feels very satisfying to remove excess growth and reveal beautiful balanced hooves.
This video has voice over explaining my inner-monologue and thoughts while trimming. It also contains the sounds of my tools removing the material of the hooves.

Thank you for watching and for your feedback! I’m starting to include footage of the horses moving in my more recent videos! Some owners don’t themselves or their property to be in the footage though.

You are really knowledgeable, I had no idea how much weight it added to the back toes when you have overgrown front toes.

    Soft spot for Walker's.
Glad she is in your hands.

Thank you! I really love the breed. Bought my first Walker last year from the breeder that owns the mare I trimmed in this video.

Nice trim. I love Walkers. My first horse (the one on my icon) was part Walker. She came from a horse trader, so she had a lot of baggage, but with time, she came around to be an amazing partner. Our time together was too short -- only a few years -- as she developed DSLD and went down hill fast. All horses are incredible creatures, but it's the special ones that leave a hoof print on our hearts forever.

Thank you so much for watching and for sharing your own horses story with me ❤️. I’m so sorry she had DSLD. It is heartbreaking to witness them slowly deteriorate. I hope you never have to experience that again. They truly are special and definitely leave an imprint on our hearts forever ❤️🙏🏻.
