Thanks for this video. I constantly take for granted that I started programming in machine code (assemblers did not exist yet).
Most modern programmers do not know this stuff unless they have a need to learn about CPU / ASIC design.
I do understand why the addressing mode is not normalized (to say network byte order) but instead keeps the machine's natural mode. This can be a huge performance gain. BUT if any address math is performed, close attention needs to be paid to this detail !
