Your choice in music made me smile! My wife and I are going in October. Trying to decide between the basic ferry ride or a guided excursion. Thoughts? Suggestions?
Bear in mind that with the fire, the situation has changed a little. I'm not sure where the ferry leaves from at the moment. In my opinion, you don't need a guided tour but it depends on your level of adventurousness. I don't see any value in the tour. Keep in mind that the trip back will be a little rougher than the trip out. I usually sit outside on the outward trip and inside on the return.
@@TravelwithMark Thanks! So my main question is if you take the ferry then is walking your means of transportation once you're there? Can you get to everywhere you want to on foot?
There are local shuttles to get to town but I never used them. I just visit the beach at the State Park. It's about a mile walk, very easy. Just make sure you have a hat and some water
Absolutely!!! You can snorkel from the beach at the State Park. Waves can be dumpers, but there's plenty of places where they're a little more gentle to get in and out.
Thanks for the compliment Thomas, appreciated. Yes, it is available in Sept 2021. This trip was actually only done at the end of August 2021. The ferry is a working ferry serving the people of Lana'i, so is unlikely to be cancelled as it provides a needed service to the residents. There's always the possibility of the State Park being closed, but I suspect people would just ignore that anyway. There aren't any entry gates or anything like that.
@@TravelwithMark wonderful to know Mark. We own a house about 20 minutes from volcanoes national park. Have it rented long term for now. Hope to move there in a few years. Perhaps you could come over when we have the guest Ohana set up
Appreciate your opening apology for pronunciation errors, however, I would suggest ANYTHING Hawaiian to replace the incessant inane circus background "music" you chose.
Awesome video, very informative. Thank you!
You’re welcome Kathy
Great video Mark and very well explained..I enjoyed the last minute music
Good to hear, glad you enjoyed it Vijay

@@TravelwithMark We like to snorkel. Should we consider bringing our gear on the ferry?

So, is this trip still available in September 2021?....(well done by the way)

Would happily include any music you can suggest for my next video on Hawaii
@@TravelwithMark Most anything by Keali'i Reichel would be sweet.
Noted, and will see if I can include. Thanks
