This is not normal and he's not faking.This is not physical battle, I have a dad who is going through the thing the wife is dead but he's always telling the children to go and bring their mum back because they plot with her to take everything from him.They will take him to the psychiatric hospital after a while everything will be normal then he will start again.
He might have Dementia or Alhzeimers... that is not bipolar. He just needs guidance n assurance, they need to love him more now. Put their moms pic up, maybe show him some videos of their moms funeral n let him know that they love n care for him as his children.......

I met funny face this morning and spent about 30 minutes with him, in fact it was the very first time both of us became interactive.
