My grandmother- rip mawmaw- taught me how to do this- but she also did it by hand/ she don’t have the vintage cutter! I miss her- she really was the glue to our family but any how- I am greatful to have those memories with her!!!
This was the time of summer I hated the most growing up!! Boiling batch after batch, transferring hot cobs to the sink, all in houses with no central air!!! 🥵 Now the families do it just like you do, all outside, even though they have central air now! It does make for good memories though!
Very cool especially your little granddaughter ❤️I always wanted to do things like this but my husband is a construction worker and I’m not able to do it all by myself, so my corn comes from the frozen section 😊
My Mom was always careful about getting too much of the cob cut off. How good are those cutters you showed about that. She would cut maybe half the kernels then scrape the cob. I just want to make some like my Mom did. Please let me know.
First time here- but goodness- the clip of the 2 young men and young lady eating corn- you can’t tell they are related - can you, spitting images!!! But thx u!!!
could have made this video much much shorter and still hit all the main points..no need to watch a complete bag gets filled, and so ears chopped etc. 3-4 would have gotten the point across just fine. using some of that time to explain things like, what type of brush works best to get the silk off etc would have been better.
I did not see where to find or where to order the corn scrapper's. Would you please send me a text or an email telling me where I can order or buy them because I have to use a knife when I do corn 🌽.
This is the best way to freeze corn. I have tried other ways that are supposed to be easier , but I have found this to be the best.
I'm glad you agree that this is the best way. Thanks for watching.

That’s a lot of good corn chopped off!
Made me sad watching. Needs better aim with that clever!
Seems like you are wasting a lot of corn the way you are shucking it!!!
Thank you for letting us in to watch and learn!
Thank you for watching Cynthia

I love the corn cutter. How does it work with whole kernels ? as I don’t want to make cream con,, thanks

My grandmother did the same- hundreds of ears a year- what a labor of love!!! Isn’t it!?
The cutter doesn't dig into the cob.
What type of brush do you use to remove the silk?

If you boil, silk down before u shuck for 5 min, u cut end off, hold by silks and shake IT comes out with NO silk on it!!
We will have to try that! Thanks
Why do you blanch it for so long? Seems to be twice as long as I have always done.
