Used to fish like you guys when i was a kid in Zimbabwe at Maclewaine, Mazoe and farm dams in Marondera, Banket, Chiredzi and Chivhu. Fished GonaReZhou and Kariba also. Looks like you guys are having a lekker time. The last time i was there in 2016 fished Claw dam for bass. Enjoy.
Great job guys! I’ll be bringing my 6wt fly rod to Congo in a few weeks. What flies work for these small tiger and tilapia? Hoping to fish some swamps and tribs. Thanks for your great vids!
Me being a fanatic of tilapia fishing , love your guys videos mahn, our dams here in SA had quality tilapia unfortunately recent years lots of them have been netted illegally which is really disappointing, would love to fish with you guys oneday, any idea how can we get in touch or if you don't mind sharing the locations
We live on a private game reserve, called Malilangwe, but I know some great spots to try, Lake Mteri and Gonarazou National Park, both very near to where I live.
@@ThisisAfricaOutdoors This is very interesting. I've got an nuclear cooler- lake next to me (in Russian Federation). Water is warm during the year. So one day somebody put telapias into it. In winter it's snowing, but you can fish for african telapia.
@@ThisisAfricaOutdoors Sure. We find that a boga grip really helps when handling those toothy critters :) A lot of the bigger fish - whether yellows or tiger, don't like being handled at all. When one lifts them out of the water, you need to support their underbellies to protect their mouths and spinal column. I just tweak them off the hook while they are still in the water regardless. (For the benefit of your viewers of course - thanks for the video)
Fantastic fun. Enjoy guys. Really enjoy your clips

Hello I am from Zim but now live in Cape Town. Any local dams around Cape Town where we can fish for Tilapia?
Friend, tell me please, Why are there pits on the bottom of the lake? Does telapia make such holes?
Yes, the holes are the nests of the tilapia

Wow! That’s so interesting, would be very strange to catch tilapia with snow around! That’s awesome!

How it looks like
Thanks I just watched it, that is so epic!
Are there bass in that dam you’re fishing?
Those round holes in the ground on the bank and in the shallows look exactly the same as bass beds.
No we don’t have any bass, those beds are all Tilapia beds
You should try catching them on small spinners or tiny crankbaits.
Those big rubber lip blues will crunch a crank!
can it work with bombarda float rig setup wtih flies?
Im sure it would work.
Tigerfish are extremely susceptible to damage caused by dry handling.
Thanks for the information
