Black Doom had the ability to harness the power of the Chaos Emeralds, which he passed on to Shadow in exchange for the Emeralds later. In SA2 it is implied absorbing the energyof the Chaos Emeralds is not something anyone can do. You need a "Chaos Control Organ" for it. At least for artificial beings.

Listen to Keanu Reeves as the voice of shadow the hedgehog was a very good choice in the long run, considering he could go from a smooth cool persona to a very menacing one in less than five seconds speaks for itself aka his time as John Wick.

But this change has given SEGA back their creative and financial automony which is why you're seeing Sonic's return to popularity and the quality of SEGA's games and frachises returning to what we saw them doing in the 90s

Y'all, if Lowart didn't already do a fantastic job covering Archie Sonic I could see Rob highlighting a few key moments of the series leading up to the movie's release.
One of the best examples how different Shadow approaches problems vs how Sonic does. Is in the IDW comic where Shadow wants to kill off Eggman who at the time lost his memories. Sonic wanted to give Eggman a chance to be a good person while Shadow knew Eggman would not be that way forever and that he needed to be destroyed. And as Rob likes to say. "You can't be a repeat offender if you're dead"

To add more to the Biolizard, gerald chose a lizard due them growing back their tails, naturally gerald thought he had a lead, but the liozard grew too powerful and big to the point that it needed life support. Thats why the lizard never leaves it domain, only making it feel abandoned and be more aggressive overtime. I also like to think that shadow succeeded as the perfect vessel due to him being part alien. Great video as always tho 🕸️

It's interesting how popular Shadow is that him just being in the movie has brought in so much attention & people who haven't watched the previous ones will likely see it. He's also one of the few Sonic characters who actually has a fairly fleshed out backstory & lore, so smart to base a movie around it

A few key things Rob messed up on that needs better explanation: Gerald is Eggman and Maria’s Grandfather. Shadows limiters were not specific to the anime. The anime is a self contained story that takes bits from the games. Shadow doesn’t actually get tired from removing the limiters. Shadows chaos control is limited without a Chaos Emerald. With an Emerald is amplified to where can teleport longer distances. Shadows moves are: Chaos Control, Chaos Spear, Chaos Blast, Morph, surf, and Wings. Super Shadows power is also relegated to Rings. Similar to Sonic, as long as they have rings, they can sustain their transformation. And lastly while Shadow is very much powerful, he’s still has his weaknesses, even though he cannot age, he can still feel pain. If Rob ever covers Silver The Hedgehog, he’ll see how BUSTED Silver is as well.

Watching this made me remember playing: Shadow The Hedgehog game on the NGC: shooting different weapons, riding the motorcycle, traversing across different levels, fighting bosses driving myself insane because I wanted to see all 10 ending and *sigh* BOY, wasn't that an... experience. If you've played it and seen every ending, you're a survivor too!

there was actually ONE TIME in the games where shadow removes his limiter rings, he has to face off against a bunch of mephiles clones in 06 and he basically goes "I don't care where I came from, I'M LITERALLY HIM!!!" and cuts a SWATHE through like thousands of clones, arguably one of his coolest moments
Its so wild as a lifelong sonic fan, seeing normally comic book youtuber who usally cover just comic book movies, now cover the sonic movies but this time, i know the source material like the back of my hand
