I've never seen a canning processor like that! That is so cool!
It is cool!! I want one!! Denise makes it look so easy!! It gets me motivated for sure!!
@faithhopelove5734 it's a Ball Electric Water Bath Canner. I have 2 of them, You'll love it!
Awesome where would you get one? And thanks for answering the question ⁉️ ❤
my shes a chatty one, just goes on & on about her craft!! 😊 love the simplicity ❤
I love how this vid is done. ❤
Easy steps to follow, and even included the vinegar wipe. Never could figure out what folks used to wipe the top edges.❤ Thank you!
There is nothing like canning your own food! You are always sure to have FRESH food and no preservatives.😊❤
Didn’t know about the vinegar wipe, thx!❤
Yum that makes my mouth water, and those kitchen cabinets and counter tops are gorgeous.
Love the way you’re so clean when you’re doing that!!! I know that’s going to turn out great!!
I use to can with my granny. Ahhh the gold Ole days. Thanks for sharing this. I'm going to get back into it. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I miss watching my grandmother and her sisters and sister in law getting ready for their canning session. It's such a fond memory, we couldn't wait for the process to start because we knew the bounty would be delicious ❤❤❤❤
Absolutely. Homemade jams and jellies are the best.Funny thing…I think more about my mom doing these things now. I look in the mirror and I see her,
I love your content, Denise!
Learning to can never seen it done like this. Love the style of your video.
Love your video. I canned with my mom during the summer. This looks safer. My mom just used a big pot and top on the stove.😮
Yes I like how she gets straight to the point !
I admire you. I helped my mom can all the time before I married-it’s a big job!
Made my mouth water when you took a bite!
Hello Denise! Have been away for a loooong-loooong time from all channels: even mine, LOL! I have to catch up on your shorts now, as I've started making shorts too, it's interesting to see what else people are interested in watching in SHORTS version! Your canning reminded me of my mom's canning, when we were kids and she kept canning and preserving for the cold Winter months (back in Armenia). I guess, the World needs to go back to taking care of their own food, as the stores are selling ONLY non-EDIBLE versions of the food, LOL! Great work done on canning! Thanks for sharing!
I was impressed already when i saw the process of filling the bottles but when i saw the huge boiler, i knew she was a professional
Hahaha! It's a waterbath canner. It's perfect for waterbath canning.
❤❤love it.. just made up some too..
Thank you!!
❤❤❤❤❤❤
You make it look easy! 🙂
This was amazing. Thank You ❤
Thank you for showing from South Africa
😍😍😍🙂🙂
I like your stove and pot. 😊❤
❤❤❤😊😊😊
Nice video. Where did you get that water bath canner?
I love to grow my own fruits & veggies, then can them! It's one of my passions 😊❤
You cannot canned vegetables in a water bath canner, unless they are pickled. You’ll get botulism.
Denise can you do a whole series on canning & freezing different foods? So the tomatoes you put in the jars, were they hot too? Did you add any salt or acid such as lemon juice? Thx!
Hi Nancy, I believe the video you are talking about I was canning strawberries. These were ready to just ladle into the jars, when I do tomatoes I do use salt and lemon juice in the prep. I think I have an old video showing that.
Thank you for showing how to properly can, your cleanliness is impeccable ❤❤❤
Ive aways wondered how my grandma canned pickles and perserves...thank you for sharing...
Rhubarb jam? My favorite!
❤
Thank you! Your kitchen looks inviting! Yet still I want to sit back and have the honor of having you cook something for me 😝
We'll all need to be doing this pretty soon.
Nicely done.
Nicely done, my Mother -in - law & i canned like THIS.
How fun
Looks delicious
I need to learn.
Having a stockpile pantry of jarred food is incredibly cost effective and much better than buying canned or jarred foods from the store. Try a batch of just tomatoes and you will be hooked ❤
I wish I had someone in my life who taught me how to water bath can. I always saw my great grandmother over a fire with a pressure cooker that like to scare the soul outta my body.
Oops! That metal round plate with all the holes goes UNDER the jars and is to protect the jar bottoms from banging into the metal cook pot bottom during a hard boil.
So many people get this wrong with this particular device. I have a rack the jars sit on already at the bottom of the pot. The larger round one is the diffuser. Trust me…I’ve had this question before and I’ve read the instructions several times. I am using this correctly. I take what I share with my young viewers seriously and double check to make sure I’m accurate
@homemakingwithdenise
Okay, my bad. I'm not exactly a young viewer (75), but I'm not too old to admit a mistake and apologize. I have an All American Pressure Canner and it has a similar-looking plate that goes in first, between the bottom of the pot & the bottom of the jars. I'll take down my comment, if you like.
Where did you get the debubbler? I use 1/2 gal jars on occasion and would love to have a long handle tool like yours. Love the face you made when eating your preserves 😁 you were like, that's right I made that! You sure did honey, keep up the good work ❤
Thank you😊
Thanks 👍 ❤
Beautiful woman and that looks amazing! 🙌
What does canning do, cook it and preserve it ?
I like that canner processor you have. Where can I purchase one?
The Oracle also cans food as well as baking incredible cookies. P.S.-please don’t hate. I love everyone equally.
I've never seen that before. My mom used ro grow huge gardens ans can for days. She ha idk how to put this, well she has a pressure cookers different sizes. I was always afraid of them and i still am. My mom died in May 2013 and they are still sitting in the boxes in the bottom of the cabinets where she put them
Missys199, don't be afraid, start learning & put them to good use, your Mom would want you to!!! Be blessed 🙌
Hi Denise, I’m a new subscriber. I’m wondering if you have any videos on storing cooked rice or beans for long term storage in Bags or jars? Thank you, I love your content.
Not yet! I did pressure can some bean soup but it was the first time ai tried it. I’ll get it posted soon.
I remember doing this in August with my mom no ac 😢
That's the way I do it.
What is that electric canner you’re using? Can you post a link for it?
I misread the title and thought you were making some type of bath soap. Then I reread the title after you tasted whatever you made😆🤦🏻♀️
Go aunty go.
Just like my mama used to do!
This is how I was taught by my mother
How long did u process them for?
Whatvis she canning fruit or tomato?
Makingbchutney i ran the jsrd through dushwasher on ht no soap the filled jars had a tigh seal
Your own food is always better
Wish I knew how to do that
Dont forget to take time to smell the roses Mrs. Denise you look like me on a mission if you know you know.
I havent stopped since 2020 and im always thinking. I pray you guys aren't just looking your gonna need to have some food put back for your family. Thetime is coming where it will be a days wages for a loaf of bread. Its akready happened in some other countries. Look up the economy in the uk type it in and you will see. Things are getting ruff get you some money save and extra things put back and get out of debt uf you can. When things change it will be quick and ugly and sad.
Thank you, Yolanda. I must admit I’m a bit weary today. I’m going to take some time to rest today.
I just wish I knew what it was , is it strawberry preserves or salsa? Nice technique, just wondering for learning purposes!😊
I think it’s salsa in retrospect. I did do strawberry preserves but the splash of it doesn’t make me think strawberry.
You sure are a gorgeous woman. And cooks too...👍✌️😛🤓
New to canning. Can some one explain the vinegar on the rim?? I always assumed it was just a wipe down.
The vinegar is to make sure there is no stickiness on the rims of the jars. This might possibly interfere with the lid adhering. It also serves as an additional cleaning agent.
If you don't debubble does that make a place for bacteria to grow? I just found your channel and I love it ❤
Not necessarily but the air can lead to too much headspace which can lead to a sealing failure.
This is great but you don’t say any about how long you leave them in the water . Mine the lids are not popping /sealing im frustrated.
It depends on the canning recipe. Small jars like half pints usually take about 15 to 20 minutes. Pints and quarts take a little longer. It depends on the recipe.
HELLO MISS DENISE, MISS YOU!
I know that look of passing even your own standards!! I know it’s good!!! 👍🏼🤗💐
How long can you store for using this electric water bath canner?
According to the FDA, one can store waterbath canned products for about 18 months. That’s what it says on the Ball jars and in the Ball Blue Book.
Mom's making it do what it do art in motion🧑🍳❗
where did you buy the boiling pot from?
I got it on Amazon. Here’s the link for it. amzn.to/3KEMnTN. I really like it because it’s so easy to use. It’s great for beginners too.
HOW LONG YOU BOIL IT
Did you add salt and lemon juice before you added the lid?
No! This is jam not tomatoes. However, I do add the salt and lemon juice when canning tomatoes.
You don’t need to boil jars or lids anymore.
I know that technically, you don’t have to boil jars but I still do. I feel better making sure my jars are sterile. The lids I don’t boil. I just wash them and let them sit in hot water until I;m ready to use them.
wait--what was she doing with that plastic knife thing? Is she just making sure the food was off the rim, or something else?
The plastic knife thingee is a debubbler. You run it around the inside of the jar to remove any air bubbles. To clean the rims of the jars I wipe the rims off with vinegar. That removes any stickiness.
Textbook!
What are you canning
That’s a good question. It looks like salsa. I really can’t be sure right now…after the fact. I’ll be sure to mark it the next time I upload.
Do you hear them pop or is it timed😊
You actually hear them pop. Just a small sound but it’s noticeable.
@@homemakingwithdenise ty for reply to my question now I follow you have a blessed day
I cant handle canning tomatoes. I found organic non gmo crushed tomatoes in a gigantic can for $1.00. I grabbed like 100 cans . Between soil and water and time ide rather grow something else
Now that was a great deal. It saved time and allowed you to spend time on something else.
She looks tired
Good video.. but This woman looks incredibly unhappy. 😢
Why did I read that as 'bathwater canning'?
Time to get off the internet.
Hair is dangling... Respectfully I would put my hair back
You are right. It’s not that long but…dangling when I lean over. I accept your thoughtful critique.
❤
This is a dying art. I love that she is simply working and not chatting. Zen. Relaxing. Great reel.
