Episode .11 - Pier Foundation and Subfloor

After building the piers, we used 6x6's to build the rest of the foundation and subfloor.

How come the nuts that fix the pieces (I don't know the proper name) to the bases do not unbalance the wood beams ?

Good question. Take a look at 1:12 you'll see the top/cover that goes on top and it covers the bolt and nut. The bolt and nut must fit perfectly inside the metal top/cover without touching. I cut mine to ensure it fits. You can see in 7:17 the post on top of the top/cover.

What is the length and width of your cabin?

The outside length and width is 16x28. I'm using 2x6 framing so the interior will be approximately 15x27. Thanks for watching.
