I am from Kazakhstan. And, I think, this gentleman does not understand the situation fully.
At first, there are workers demonstrations. But then the other elements, like criminals, started to escalate the situation. The become commit crimes, killing innocent people and looting stores. They were no the part of worker's protest. They just used the situation. Most of Kazakhstan people were against them. Everyone were in awe after peaceful protest become violent against the people of Kazakhstan. And most of the people actually stood up with the police. Against the criminals.
While the russian army invite was questionable, they literally did nothing bad there. It was not invasion. They entered by being invited by the government and, actually, most of the people of Kazakhstan were supporting it due to unability of our police to effectively stop the criminals.
Initial worker's protest was supported by people of Kazakhstan. But what happened later - no one could predict. And everyone started to support police and government against the criminals.
