I am so impressed - moved, too, as always, by your singing & playing - you make it sound and look so easy and effortless - testament to your skills as a musician/vocalist. Wow.
Same! I truly admire (and wonder how I missed such progress in playing) people who play without music, so perfectly! And, to know all the words too! It makes me feel like I missed so much in my 12+ yrs of lesson's! All I can do is read music and play it. I have so much more learning to do! Aimee, can you also add in singing lesson's to this channel?!
Your videos are always interesting. This one is really really good. I tune in to your channel for the theory and education but you just doing your “thang” was so honest and nice.
Damn, that is a good microphone. Aimee deserves more subscribers both because of the content and here love for the music and because of how professional she does it now. She will get there.
Great video Aimee! One thing that always comes through on all your videos how much you LOVE music. It’s really apparent, and something that I share with you. Side note; I came your gig one Friday night and requested “At Last” - what a nice surprise to hear it here!
What a wonderuful collection of songs that I did not really not know how to play on the piano, and you gave a simple and great example of how to do that. You made me run to the piano.
Your interpretation of those timeless pop classics brings a welcomed breeeze of fresh air ! Right now, I can only play a 251 progression, but I do hope to land some gig playing some of these in a bar at some point, that will cross one off my bucket list ! Keep up the good work. Cheers.
Your arrangements are always so fantastic! I would love to see you do some more accompaniment style videos on some of these tunes. Thanks for everything you do!
Nailed all of 'em - You have such a beautiful voice and your playing is flawless. I enjoyed the listen. I've been looking for a list like this to start working on. Thank you for the motivation and the education! :)
You wil me forever known to me as : AWESOME AIMEE. Sings and Musicians love other singers and musicians. Your videos are so refreshing my friend. Best wishes to you and your family. One Love!
Great video! You do great work! As a guitar player I try to arrange piano songs for guitar, many times I don’t know what I’m doing. Your videos always provide value insights that help me improve. They have also piqued my interest in jazz. Thank you. Cheers!
I enjoy listening to and watching your lessons. This installment gave you a chance to basically entertain us with a live solo gig. Very well done! Bravo! I also liked that even though you “specialize” in jazz, you gave these mostly non-jazz tunes your all.
Great list. You should do a series of videos in which you talk about your approach to the arrangements, styles, feel, etc for these songs. Kind of a short “how to” play the top 25 requested tunes. In other words, break it down! Just a thought.
Thanks! I have done some of those. For instance, Killing Me Softly... but the thing is, is that I don’t have a lot of viewers who play piano and sing. If I were to break down what I’m doing in this video, it would be how to accompany yourself, or a singer. I’m not sure people would be interested unless it was for solo piano. What do you think?
you already said, it could also be to accompany someone else, so no one HAS to play and sing at the same time. I'd love it to see some of those arrangements broken down :)
I play but can't sing... but I really like the "accompanying a vocalist" ones you've done .. because really.. that level of detailed instruction on that style is not easy to come by anywhere else.
Great video. I saw your video with Jake Reichbart, but I didn't know you were familiar with Tim Lerch. So very cool to find that so many of my favorite artists are friends with each other!
I enjoyed this very much. Before the Eagles were huge they toured as backup to Jethro Tull. Hotel California's chord progression sounds like Tull's song 'We Used To Know'. Ian Anderson was asked why he didn't sue but rather than me going on here, there are interviews where he talks about it. There's no question they sound the same. Take care..
Cool Aimee, I’m a sax/clarinet player and have been playing dance band gigs for over 40 years (up until Covid). Mostly 30’s & 40’s Standards. But the “older” crowd is getting younger generationally, so now Senior Center gigs have to include more 60’s & 70’s ! Kinda scary. Good list . Thanks!
Lucky u tube feed. You are the greatest. Every time I see your stuff I’m stunned by your ability and versatility. If you see this could I throw out a suggestion? Try looking up some old b bumble & the stingers material. All instrumentals with tack hammer piano lead. These were a great inspiration for me though I can only dream of playing a lot of it. Maybe with some practice….
What is it about music that causes so much emotion? Im a sixty year old fella and I am learning piano. I watched this through and by the end was crying like a baby. Such beautiful singing and playing. I don’t know what came over me… Just sayin’
love this .. love it when you give us some rock/pop/soul. Stairway To Heaven on the piano... n...i..c...e :) ....and Wonderful Tonight ... works so well on piano
Awesome List and beautifully performed Here are some Songs Bruiser The Cat 🐈 likes to snuggle to: I Guess The Lord Must Be In New York City - Harry Nilsson Remember - Harry Nilsson Ben - performed by Michael Jackson Killing Me Softly Please Come Back To Boston Angie’s Song - John Denver Feelings It Don’t Matter To Me - Bread If You Could Read My Mind - Gordon Lightfoot The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face Any ballad by Nilsson, Michael Jackson, Roy Orbison, Willie Nelson, Karen Carpenter, And many other sensitive songs Not always my favorites but what his Orange Tabby heart responds to...
Beautiful - I love the way you have adapted some of them to your own style. There were even a couple in there that I didn’t know. I’d love to hear a complete version of Don’t Stop Believing’ - that was a particular standout for me that brings something new and heartfelt to such a well known song.
My 5 year old grandson wanted Dont Stop Believing. It’s on one of cartoons they watch now. I have Mothers Day Brunch several years now at a big banquet room seats about 500. There is a big trade in mom bringing antsy toddlers up to see the piano being played. You’d best have some stuff they know, and they will make a game of stuffing the tip jar!
Very nice. I was kind of thinking Rainy Days and Mondays would be in there. BTW that little bit of Don't Know Why was interesting. You sound like Norah IMO.
Hi Thank you so much for this I have uploaded many songs and keep looking for new songs to learn and there were a couple new songs I have never heard of! I hope when I become older I can also do gigs! I was wondering how many song lyrics do you have in memory? Can you have another video for the next 10 most popular requests?
Last summer I took my family to Destin FL, and we were fortunate enough to be at a restaurant the night they had live piano. We got seated as the guy was setting up and my kids got so excited because he was a total Ryan Gosling doppelgänger and they were still buzzing a bit from La La Land and thought oh man this is gonna be so legit - he's even dressed like him! So they start coming up with a few jazz standards - Parker, Guaraldi, Evans, Peterson - to write on a note and give to him. Ahhh man... it was so painfully unfortunate. He was live on mic and opening the requests up and stuttering and not knowing any of them. I felt so bad for him that my kids were making requests that he didn't even know. I hate putting anyone in a bad spot, but he sorta walked into it I guess. But what's my point? I swear, I think he knew everyone of your Top 25, because once he stumbled thru trying to process one of their requests, he auto-piloted right to a number of these on the list - and he didn't even try to make them "jazzy" ;-). We gave him a HUGE tip, because we felt so bad. Haha
Thanx for the great list Aimee. You play them all very well, but I can tell that my girl Alicia Keys has really gotten under your skin with your superb rendition of "I ain't got you"!! Wish you could have played the whole tune cause you got so much soul in ya when you do it!Bravo and Congrats!! Take care.Love ya as always!! Kisses >>Phil from New York City
If I was requesting from that list in your show, from what I heard here, At Last - and forget the rest! Some interesting treatments on some of the others. The loungy twists caught me off guard.
Oh....I'm just left in a dreamy state of bliss.......again. Thank you.
Four years later - this is inspirational!! Such a sweet, nuanced voice. Beautiful!

She seems to have a preferred key: Bb. And the dominant of it: F. Most of us do.
I love the little smile when you hit the F7b9 chord in Bohemian Rhapsody at 5:40. Was that the "That's a tasty alteration of the original" look?
I think she did the same thing 4:34! Dang! She is so good. So subtle but so good.
I am so impressed - moved, too, as always, by your singing & playing - you make it sound and look so easy and effortless - testament to your skills as a musician/vocalist. Wow.
Oh my goodness!! I just had the most beautiful relaxing time just listening to you play and sing Aimee..Thank you so much!!
Same! I truly admire (and wonder how I missed such progress in playing) people who play without music, so perfectly! And, to know all the words too! Such a beautiful medley. Your are an inspirational musician, a super talented performer and such a positive presenter in your videos. Bravo.
Aimee, you are converting this this jazz trombonist into a pop person. Your love of these melodies and how they may be interpreted is infectious.
you have the voice of an angel! Its sweet and lovely
Your videos are always interesting. This one is really really good. I tune in to your channel for the theory and education but you just doing your “thang” was so honest and nice.
I love your list and I have tears in my eyes listening your singing and playing. Thank you so much!

Beautiful vocals and accompaniment.

Great video! You do great work!

Very fine playing and singing! Nice funky style with "Isn´t she lovely"!
Just beautiful!
I enjoy listening to and watching your lessons. This installment gave you a chance to basically entertain us with a live solo gig. Very well done! Bravo!
I also liked that even though you “specialize” in jazz, you gave these mostly non-jazz tunes your all.
I loved listening to these tunes and found myself wanting to hear a full song in more than a few cases. Thanks for posting youre very talented!
Very smooth and professional arrangements! You have very beautiful and expressive voice - I just could not stop listening!
I want more of your "At Last"
One of my mother’s favorite songs. Etta is so good.
Amazing performance Aimee!
Wonderful Aimee! I will add the tunes to my own repertoire

Your so awesome Aimee such beautiful singing and playing

Very lovely. I particularly liked your version of I’ll be there, but they were all great.

I enjoyed listening to these; If you recorded these as full length versions they'd be one my iPod in a flash.
Ok you brought me to tears with your voice. Loved it! Have you heard Company by Rickie Lee Jones? I would love to hear you perform that song!

Aimee Blackbird was Insanely awesome!!!
Very nice. I was kind of thinking Rainy Days and Mondays would be in there. BTW that little bit of Don't Know Why was interesting. You sound like Norah IMO.

So cool songs. You are now in my playlist :)
If I was requesting from that list in your show, from what I heard here, At Last - and forget the rest!
Some interesting treatments on some of the others. The loungy twists caught me off guard.
Thx, Bill
I hope you didn't misunderstand. "Forget the rest" only meant, that "At Last" sounded very very potent :)
0:18 to 0:22 eyebrow talent. She, she's gifted.
