Thank you for the dip bag idea!!
More for your money and safer if you go to the camping section and get a Space blanket. It's thicker and more pure and you can layer it. And you get a HUGE sheet vs a greasy old bag ;-). Make a second one and put a layer of Kapton tape over it for a slight filter. (Kapton on top of Mylar makes the most PURE gold texture ever)
I may have to test this I have chip bags and I have mylar blankets see which one is better. All I know is mylar blankets suck they rip so easy If you fart they rip😂
I Really Want To Take A photo Of The Sun Now. Cool Video!
Thanks for share. You can mitigate those rings around the image; paintig with deep black the insides of the can. Regards.
That is a good idea; I will have to try that in the future. My final design in part 2 just had a small hole since I was only using it with full zoom. That used less material and let less light into the can. th-cam.com/video/tKNujbx8SNY/w-d-xo.html
I understand that serves the package of chips as a sunscreen??
U can use a chip bag as the filter
R.I.P your camera sensor and your eyes
A crisp packet as a solar filter! As a hospital optometrist and photographer, this is so irresponsible
Does it works in samrtphone
is this safe ?

Thank you I got it to work with the chip bag
Eric Nutsch same
Brand you used.
I just made sure there were no waves and any light showing through on the bag before I put the can on.
I also used black electric tape insted of clear apoxi.
what material did you use?
Its a proprietary manufactured solar filter film; most likely a dark tinted PET film with aluminized coating on one side. I got the piece in the video on amazon: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DS7RO7Y/
Is the chip bag safe to use ? I mean for the lens and eyes .. any idea ?

The chip bag bit... thats a crazy risk to your eyes... thousand oak optics sells the approved safe solar filter material for like $20... your eyes are worth more than $20... please don't discount your health at the expense of the appropriate equipment. Just dont... I appreciate the diy aspect generally but let's weigh where the risks are...
The light only shines on the camera's sensor. Your eyes just see the view finder digital display, or large digital display.
@@EricNutsch you know people will use this with their eyes. This is the internet.
@@MahBor I can't stop people from looking at the sun lol. Fortunately there is a pain reflex that usually takes care of that issue. In the context of this video I specifically instruct the use of a camera.
It's so funny these people are trying to say you're going to burn your eyes or you'll go blind yeah I know I go blind every time I look at my computer monitor when I'm taking pictures😂 come on people he's not looking at the sun with a bag of chips over his head He's looking at a camera screen or a computer screen that's already filtering out the deadly rays of the sun sun sun sun. Guys trying to help people either can't afford a solar lens or don't know where to get a solar lens or just don't want to buy a solar lens because you don't need to if you use a bag of chips or some other foil like a space blanket lol
Not trusting this but cool filter and video
Edit:I mostly don’t trust myself with this
Don't use the chip/crisp bag ffs. Get the proper solar film from Baader.
This is a great use of a chip bag if you can't wait 3 to 10 days for a solar filter.
Thanks dude the chip bag thing worked thanks a lot have a nice day
