Taking your undergarments all the way off one leg to straddle this would also require taking one shoe off (hose) it's no wonder it's not popular. I'm a 56 year old female and this is the first time I've heard of them.
If I ever start my own toilet / urinal collection and have a Sanistand and a Madstone in my collection, I really want to do a flush test between the two. Both seem very powerful for urinals, but I'm guessing that the Sanistand would be more powerful.
+KDMCPlumbing Maybe it's because I haven't seen a Sanistand in real life, but a Sanistand seems just a tad cooler than a Madstone. It's probably the "unknown" or mystery factor, but of course, both are pretty cool. If I'm not mistaken, Sanistands were designed to take down toilet paper as well?

H Gilchrist Sanistands were discontinued in the 60s or 70s. You can find them occasionally at salvage yards or online. I got both of mine from a salvage yard for $50. Prices vary though. I’ve seen some sell for over $1,000.

I found one of these in a women's room at a campground when I was little. It was among some "Standard" Afwalls, Glencos, or Instantos.

They used to have these in the women's bathroom at Altgeld Hall at NIU!! I had no idea how I was supposed to use this toilet

This is from 1952 or 1953. The original Sloan Royal valve was a model 187 until 1971, then the model 189 afterward.

Do you have an American Standard Jetbrook urinal? Doesn’t matter if it’s old or new, I think it can flush a washcloth

HowTheWaterGoesDown I just really like forward trap urinals. The Sanistand was supposed to be able to flush toilet paper and it definitely could.

That depends. Any tank toilet will be easy to hook up and flush. Flushometer toilets and pressure assist toilets would be harder.
