I thought an annual THTC would be a great idea. These shows have been absolutely legendary. I mean, on a level with Woodstock, Live Aid, Monterrey Pop, Early Lollapalooza shows, Texxas Jam, CalJam, etc. Just fantastic!
I agree, it should be a yearly event, Foos, Def Leppard, GnR, Rush, Wolfgang, Motley, Metallica, Green Day, etc because let's face it, the old bands are the new modern rock because there isn't nothing new that will ever compare to any of these bands. Maybe Dave's already thought of it. Let's hope!
Love love Justin Hawkins Rides Again! One of my favorite signers! Wolfgang playing Panama so well. I love Josh Freese, such a great punk rock drummer! What a great performance!
Ha, ha ,haaaa, I was always telling all the doubters of Wolfgang that he has incredible talent and they didn’t believe me when he was playing in his dad and uncle’s band. Well done Wolf, you nailed it once again. Your dad will always be my mentor in guitar playing. 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
@@bryonkidder6199 it’s not difficult until you try to play it “exactly” like Eddie played it. Then, you have to get the right tone. The tone is one of the hard parts. Rock on !!!
I love these Taylor Hawkins shows, the energy is so much like it was back in the late 70,s concerts. Great musicians having a good time on stage with out all the crap of special effects. We need more if this, its good for the fans as well as the musicians. Positive energy rock on! .....Joey
Says a lot about Wolfie's character to show up and play Panama a song he never plays in his own band. A beautiful tribute for sure. It's no surprise Wolfie killed it!
I just can't get over the beauty of the Quilted Maple Top of Wolf's axe here ....What a pristine instrument.....Tone on it has real Thundercrunch. & he kicked ass on it without even needing a Vibrato Bar too.
@@bryonkidder6199 Well, vibrato bar is just a pitch tool which Ed used with great originality unlike the legions of players who came after who did fit your description. What is interesting about WOLF'S guitars is that by exploring the Semi Acoustic route he is going a pathway that his Dad didn't explore to the extent he is. In VH in the 1970s there were band politics restraining ED from playing semi acoustics for mere band image visual cosmetic reasons but because Wolf does everything himself in the studio & employs his live band he doesn't have those restrictions. He's totally his own man....& because of this his guitars have this semi acoustic sustain & tone to them which solid body instruments don't actually have. In hard rock Nugent broke the ground here but Wolfgang on his first album was doing something different with it again.
The rumored VH reunion/Eddie tribute tour should be Wolf on guitar, with Alex, Mikey, and Dave. There doesn’t need to be a multitude of guys taking turn on guitar. Who better to step in and honor Eddie’s playing than Wolf himself?
DAMN, Wolfie is just astounding. As someone who looked up to my own Dad a lot, Wolfie is no doubt making his proud. I know he doesn’t wanna copy Van Halen, make a buck off them, just make his path, but damn. His guitar work is SPOT ON. Chills, almost tears. I’ve seen the video that has a lot of family footage, just amazing, the talent Wolfie is. Your Dad is smiling.
This gives me the idea of a group of Wolfgang Van Halen, Jason Bonham…now we need a bassist of a legend and a singer of a legend. Create a super group of kids from legendary artists.
I know Wolfie is promoting his new guitar that sounds great, and he's probably used to, but man, how cool would it have been to see him playing his dad's Kramer striped 5150 guitar for this?

@@jordan4870 live Aid didn't change anything. Raised millions that went right into corrupt African pockets.
I was in London at the celebration of 50 years of Marshall amps. It was brilliant
I don't know how to express the immense joy it is to see Wolfgang shredding his Dad's songs and sounding exactly like him. Very, very cosmic energy.
This just makes me happy, Wolfgang is a beast and its great to see him smile and carry on his pops and his own legacy. Thanks for sharing

Eddie said that Wolf was "dangerous". After hearing this, man was Eddie right! Wolf inherited the gift of music and what a gift it is!! 👍👍👍👍👍
I think that's the first time I've ever heard Panama performed live with all the words being sung.
Haha.
DLR definitely sacrificed the lyrics at times to focus on the theatrics.
Dave couldn’t remember the words and his vocals were so scattershot that you could only sing along to VH choruses.
that's Eddie Van Halen prodigy right there, DNA and all! Mad respect to Wolfie!
prodigy? really now.........
JUSTIN HAWKINS!!!! Such a flamboyant and talented entertainer and always with a touch of humor.
His TH-cam channel is great. I wouldn't have become a fan without it.
Check out his Rig Rundown by Premier Guitar. Dude is a total trip!

We need this as long as it doesn’t require a rock star dying in order to make it happen.
And no fricken dancers onstage with everything choreographed to perfection. No lip sync and LIVE drums.
Freese has always been amazing!
