- Got my first fire fan kits and this is my attempt at sewing the wicks on. Hope this helps anyone wondering about this method. I got mine from Home Of Poi and really like them and the website.
All opinions are my own and I paid for all products myself.
Ooooh yes!! This is exactly what I just ordered from HOP and it's so cool to see you demo them! Thanks so much for the great tutorial
GratitudeRat Thank you so much! You're so kind. These fans are awesome, you're gonna love them! Thanks for watching & lemme know how it goes when they arrive. 🔥🕸💛🌼
This is such a good tutorial! I'm currently looking into buying my first fire fan, deciding between getting one pre-wicked or 'do it yourself!' wick!
Awesome! Welcome to the world of fire fans, such a great community your gonna have so much fun! Downside is they are expensive, this was the cheapest option I found, personal suggestion if your crafty/patient get the sew it yourself ones & if not it'd be worth it to spend and have them already done. Please hollar if you have any questions I can help you out with, I'm still learning too but we all love to help each other, it's exciting to see every artist grow! Much love & thank you for the kind words.
I just now started sewing my wicks on my fans, and I also had the same problem with the needles breaking! In two wicks, I broke both needles that came in the Home of Poi kit lol and I stabbed myself like 12 times! So now I am on hold until I can go out and get more needles lol and maybe one of those fancy gloves lol
brittany7734x92 Its so hard to push those things through! Craft & sewing stores should have the needles for pretty cheap but ouch! Hoping you get more soon & no more pain! Pliars helped tons! The things we go through for the love of flow arts lol! ✌💜
I am happy to see this video and found our products you like it.
Thank you for this video ❤
This is not so easy with 100% kevlar wick 💔
It is tough to get the needle through, I found using pliers did help a lot. Don't give up, we wish you lots of luck! =)
@@LuckSpinner yes that is how i managed it. Pliers were a must, doing it with fingers alone was impossible. Thank you ♥️
Guuuurl 🙃 I spent 20min on 1 wick ! It’s so long 😂😂 next time I’m paying the extra 15$-20$ for the pure-made kit 😂😂 My hands HURT 🥺
Oh dear! I hope your hands heal quickly and it becomes a happy memory for you one day. It is a real pain to sew them but it does save some money. I totally agree with you, buying them a 2nd time I would also pay the extra. At the time it was a good way to go just beginning. Enjoy your new fans! Much love fellow flow artist!
How much is it with already Stitched wicks and the one you bought?
One set of fans plus wicks to sew was $30, one was $40 and the white ones were on clearance without wicks for $11. Pretty big savings. Even with the shipping i paid, it still came out being 3 sets for the price of one. Most sets put together already are over $100 each. It is nice to have them ready to rock right out of the package but its a significant difference in pricing. I just checked homeofpoi tho and didn't see any fans in stock currently. Etsy usually has a ton of cool ones to choose from. Best to you~
