  • A look at the Casio CTK-6200 keyboard. Basic sounds are at the start and the rhythm section towards the end. All musical excerpts are ©2017 John David Coupland with the exception of, 'Crown him with many crowns.'

    Your accent reminds me of Rod off radio 5 live ‘up all night’ I lived in east Sutherland for a year, awesome place and people . I am about to pull the trigger on one of these as I can get a good deal . I can’t even play yet but have been studying on youtube and the web. I play guitar and the layout of music on the keyboard seems quite logical . I’m hoping to play some 80s rock Bon Jovi , etc . I was torn between getting a sub £100 to see how I got on , but also desired something like a korg krona with recording and synth capabilities. The 6200fills a gap between the two . I like the song composing recording side, auto accompany and of course being able to create tones , while having presets to fall back on. Would be cool to create a ‘save a prayer ‘ tone like the Duran record. I saw a guy doing a good Van Halen tune on TH-cam too. Thanks for the demo. Take it easy ...... paul 🤟🏼😎🤟🏼. 🎸

      The keyboard is over at my daughter's house so from memory it has around 8 church organ sounds. I do not remember it having a spinet but it did have a plain and a coupled harpsichord.

    could you do a video on the multi-track recording feature. I wanna put together songs on my piano with "filler" sounds before exporting as midi and messing around on the computer, and this seems to be the least expensive option for doing something like that.

    Hello Mr Jhon, are you still around?
    Would you recommend this piano to a beginner? I have no real interest in playing on a real piano (because they're outrageously expensive) and I don't want to become the next Beethoven, I just want to entertain myself, friends and family, would this piano be a good fit for me?

    my daughter has taken the keyboard for her 2nd year school in paisley , i plan to purchase her a keyboard for christmas , her teacher has told me they use the casio 4200 model but i have found this model discontinued , are you familiar with this model and do you know what casio model is as near to it , i dont want to confuse my daughter in getting her a different type of keyboard that she will be using at school.

    • @JohnCouplandguitar
      @JohnCouplandguitar  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yamaha and Casio change their models every 2nd year so today's equivalent would be the Casio CT-X3000 or its big brother the CT-X5000. That said you might be able to find a 4200 second hand.

    I'm looking to spend under £200 quid for a started piano. Would you recommend this or do you have a different one for beginners. I can form all major chords (as I'm sure anyone could) and play a few pieces on single notes. Any suggestions?

    • @JohnCouplandguitar
      @JohnCouplandguitar  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The disadvantage of this type of keyboard is that the bells and whistles can be distracting. You are unlikely to use many of the sounds until you are doing home recordings and you decide you want an accordion or a sax. To learn on I would recommend the Yamaha NP-12 which is within your budget. Certainly if children are using it they will spend less time pressing buttons and more time pressing the black and white bits.

    I'm having a problem with my Casio WK6600,. When I go to change the octave, it only shows for the upper keyboard, then reverts to the tone selected on the display. I cannot access keyboatrd 2 or the lower octave, Once I restored the default factory settings and it worl¿ked again,, but now that doesn't work, I would really appreciate some feedbaclk on how I might correct the problem..

    • @JohnCouplandguitar
      @JohnCouplandguitar  3 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @JohnCouplandguitar
      @JohnCouplandguitar  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The keyboard, like most of the instruments I review, was just passing through so I cannot check but what you need to find are the envelope controls. These may be called ADSR, attack, decay, sustain, release. By increasing the release time you will get the result you are looking for.

    • @condetoledo
      @condetoledo 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank You Jhon for your interest to help me. In other keyboards Is very easy to setup this efect sustain. Only pushing "Funtion" + " selecting sustain" in the display. Is this possible in Casio CTK 6200? Thank you again. Bye.

    Hey, I have this keyboard and I was wondering how to delete everything recorded. I’m trying to record a new song but every time i press the button and touch a key, an old one immediately starts playing and I can’t delete it :/

    • @JohnCouplandguitar
      @JohnCouplandguitar  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are best to reset the keyboard to the factory settings. This will delete everything you have recorded. Press the Function button then select General then select Initialise then press Enter. As with most of the instruments I review this Casio was just, 'Passing through,' so I do not have one to hand at the moment.

      The socket is not the slot style used on usb memory sticks but the, 'square house,' shaped one. This allows you to connect to a PC which will require software such as Cubase.

    Thanks for this vidéo. I think the piano&organ sounds are really good, the first bass you try, is ok, but all the over sounds are very far from the reality ones, seemed very poor, sounding like the old bontempi toys, like ducks... But, the quality of the keyboard is good with velocity so it's a good investment in used ones.
