Recently graduated from Perth and moved to Sydney to start my career and have found a lot of people over here seem to be using ArchiCAD over Revit. These videos have been a great help for me to try and learn ArchiCAD!
Again, I can't thank you enough for this helpful and informative tutorial. I hope you keep this tutorial and making more complicated design with ArchiCad.
Great Tutorials ! In following this tutorial I got into a huge mess with the initial adding of the kerb, and then the subsequent additions and height adjustments of the pathways. I have all sorts of rectangles overlaying other rectangles, and parts that appear to belong to other parts they should not. And I've NO IDEA how to CONFIDENTLY inspect for these problems, and then - most importantly - equally confidently, correct the wrong stuff. One could start over at the beginning again, but that doesn't teach one how to FIX a mess. You did touch on fixing stuff briefly with the overlaying grass, but it was all too brief. It would be very helpful to have a series of specific short tutorials that focus on how to fix the silly problems that beginners so easily get into.
@@DavidTomic You are a teaching STAR! Your Archicad tutorials are my "first-to-go-to" on TH-cam, because you are a natural teacher - you don't waffle about ... your tutorials are very well prepared ... and interesting ... and up-to-date ... you have a clear speaking voice ... you share your tips and insights in a constant flow as the video progresses ... and you correctly anticipate what learners would want to see answered in the process. There are not many Archicad lecturers on TH-cam that can tick all these boxes. In my opinion, you are in the same - and very rare - league as David Mann - another outstanding lecturer and teacher, and also from Australia, who has been a world of help to Archicad students. We are truly blessed to have your contribution and enthusiasm for the subject. I hope Graphisoft appreciates you as much as we do!
Great video, absolutely wonderful! A simple but efficient work procedure, gained a lot from u from this video. BTW if possible, can u do a video on engravings(not sure is this is the right word) and designs on walls and columns. Liked. Subscribed. Thanks Edit - Working with profiles actually
These tutorials area amazing and real life-savers! I have a question though, I'm using an educational licenese for Archicad (Which according to their website is fully functional), and I noticed that I have way less materials and wall profiles than you do. Did you download those from somewhere or are they included by default and just restricted on the educational license?
Hey! It all comes down to the templates available by default to you and your country. Might also be restricted by educational licenses, I can't actually remember what my educational product looked like haha
I do try and say all the shortcuts, use the way too often haha! I'll do my best to start incorporating visuals of the commands for you in future videos :)
hey David, how does one go about creating a monument of a famous economist? Would like to see your thought process on the steps that should be taken. Also if possible, would like you to do a 3D model
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I am having trouble figuring out making the spotlight angle side way.. When I click the light it only gives me option to adjust light intensity.
Unsure what 2025 program you are referring to? Archicad needs to be purchased directly through one of their sales reps you can check their website for info. Twinmotion is direct purchase through epic games.
Thanks David! get well soon and love from Jamaica
Thanks brother! Feeling better today so it's a good start!

Great insight. Will consider how to improve these tutorials!
