Yes, Margaret Brennan was rude, for she was just following the ways of the United States as a nation, in which at Daniel 7 in the Bible, it describes the United States as being derived from "a small horn" (that grew into a big "horn", see Dan 7:20) that was among the "ten horns" resulting from the dissolution of the Roman Empire (Dan 7:7), saying: "While I considered the horns (or political nations that grew out of Rome's collapse in 476 C.E.), look ! another horn, a small one (that became the United Kingdom, as a small and distant land that Rome had colonized in 44 C.E., but left in 410 C.E.), came up among them, and three of the first horns (Spain, France and the Netherlands) were plucked up from before it. And look ! there were eyes like human eyes in this horn (that became the United States, as Britain's "child"), and there was a mouth speaking arrogantly."(Dan 7:8) This arrogance that is so pronounced in the United States, will soon be gone, and so will the rest of the political system that has brought nothing but pain and misery to mankind. At Daniel 2, it says: "In the days of those kings (or when "the feet and toes of iron mixed with clay" is ruling [see Dan 2:33], the Anglo/American world power, with the United States taking center stage on the world scene) the God of heaven will set up a kingdom (or heavenly government, called God's Kingdom, see Matt 6:10) that will never be destroyed. And this kingdom will not be passed on to any other people. It will CRUSH and put an end to all these kingdoms (the entire political system), and it alone will stand forever, just as you saw that out of the mountain (or God's universal sovereignty) a stone (God's Kingdom) was cut not by hands (or through politics), and that it crushed the iron, the copper, the clay, the silver, and the gold (or the last five world powers that held sway over God's people, as represented by the metals and clay). The Grand God (whose name is Jehovah, see Isa 12:2, KJV) has made known to the king what will happen in the future. The dream is true, and its interpretation is trustworthy.”(Dan 2:44, 45)
In the Western-led international order, Russia is one of China's few friends. She's kinda rude let the man talk. She asks a lot of leading questions also. You can tell he's being VERY careful with what he says. It's more like an interrogation than an interview.
Chinese ambassadors are vague and hardly ever touch on point. They are very careful to walk the line in the middle and it takes some demanding of answers to get them to give real answers

She was one person. She only represents herself, not all media, all USA, all women, etc. I agree, she was awful! She was so rude! But that doesn’t mean she represents whole groups of people. She only represented herself!
The interview doesn’t have much interest. The reporter keeps rudely interrupting him (« womanterrupting » anyone ?) even though he’s not a native speaker and sometimes has to struggle to search for his words. China is a key ally of Russia, it won’t condemn the invasion but it also doesn’t condone it since it abstained from voting at the UN. This is a balance that seems out of reach for the interviewer.
I would love to hear him talk with a more polite and patient interviewer - and hear what he has to say. This interview really was a waste of time if all she was going to do is interrupt him mid-sentence with a negative tone.
I clearly understood what the Chinese ambassador said: "We are not interested in stop murders on Ukraine, stop demolishing the whole country because it could harm our interests " ... simple as stick
They Chinese ambassador didn’t have a good answer for any of the questions. Why don’t the Chinese just admit that the attack on Ukraine is an invasion. 150, 000 troops in Ukraine is not some kind of “special operation” lol
This woman reporter is actually more giving a speech than interviewing. She is actually putting her own opinion out and her own judgement down based on her stand on the issue without any respect to her guest’s voice on the matter. These kind of journalists are just inviting guests to their programs so they can use them and can give a speech and show off their power patting themselves on the back.
I really cannot stand news anchors who ask a question and then don't let their interviewee finish answering the question. Because "time". It's so rude and annoying.
Is was never the plan to let the ambassador speak freely. More like interrogation than a honest interview. Such is a sad stage of current US media. I never voted for Trump but now I understand why Trump called these so called media FAKE news. Never objective, just game plan and attack at ever chance they get.
This AMERICAN media lady, interrupted Chinese Ambassador 23 times! While the same day interviews with the US DoD Secretary and Ukrainian Ambassador both had ZERO interruptions! With such a double standards of respect, she shamed US media. Over hundred countries condemned, did Russian retreat? Does it make any difference China condemns or not? Encourage the two sides to have peace talks, China is doing the real thing and right thing.
What difference it makes? China would showing the world and Putin they're not by his side. All China is doing is promoting conversations of surrender from Ukraine, they're full on Russia's side.
wow look at the reporter. She was leaning toward her guest like she would jump over and pounce on her "guest" if it wasn't for the desk between them. if you have never seen a court room cross examination, this "interview" would be a very close one. The tactic here is to agitative your "opponent" with intimidating questions and wild sensational judgmental statement.
Yes I can imagine. That's the role and attitudes of the reporter. YOu need to squeeze. However, don't get me wrong what the reporter asked is also happening in US. There's more room to promote peace not just condemnation and pretend to be peace lover like the big hegemony.
Yes, that's what I was about to say. During such a short 9-minute talk, the reporter tried to cut the talks 23 times. I am just amazed how unprofessional these reporters can get these days. It is not elegant at all.
A good interview doesn't mean allowing the person being interviewed to spew nonsense; espeicially when it's being repeated to the point of being meaningless. I appreciated that Brennan was holding this representative of the Chinese government accountable for his non-answers.
It’s frustrating the interviewer keeps cutting off the ambassador. It’s actually extremely rude in Asian cultures for this to happen. If you invited someone and he’s gracious enough to take his time to talk to you, at least let him finish his line.
I agree 100%... If you're going to interview someone you should let them finish everything they're going to say... Now having said that I think China is full of s***.... The only reason that they're not condemning what Russia is doing is because they're getting ready to do the same thing to Taiwan and they don't want to look like hypocrites....
Exactly!!! Obviously English isn’t his first language so it takes some time to mentally translate into English! The chowderheads at CBS should have allowed more time for the exchange .
he is an ambassador he is suppose to be very understanding of the different cultures so the interuptions should be natural to him if he is capable of his job
do not pretend you are interviewing when you do not allow your guest to speak. do not pretend you are a journalist when you are only interested in expressing your point of view and have zero interest to listen to the person you are speaking to. do not pretend you are an educated person when you are not demonstrating basic respect and courtesy to another person
She thought being aggressive makes her a winner, but it contradicted the purpose. Did she invite him to shame him or to listen to him? He makes perfect sense that condemnation is useless. Any logical person can understand that. Look at her facial expression, especially at the end of the interview. If this interview’s purpose was to show her anger, I guess, she won. The show failed to deliver on its basic mission - be informative, objective and constructive. The Russia Ukraine crisis is a complex issue and it’s just naive to expect the whole world to believe and follow the one sided narrative of America and NATO. If the US truly wants China to play a role to stop the war, then please respect their positions and interests and let’s use diplomacy to solve the crisis instead of using aggressive language “join us in condemnation and sanctions, or you’ll be condemned and sanctioned!” I’m sorry, the world just doesn’t work that way, dear lady. There are many more countries representing 56% wolrd population that didn’t vote with the US and NATO allies. The US has launched economic war upon China for years and I don’t see China back down yet, so probably not working again this time when the US needs their help to stop the war and the economic crisis that’s happening in the world caused by the sanctions. I hate war and certainly dislike Putin but the US is nowhere near innocent in this war. I have faith in diplomacy, constructive dialogue but not in any more unilateralism and taking moral high grounds. Let some grownups talk please.

On the topic of whether to condemn Russia, assume China has the leverage to force Russia to pull out, how's that different from bullying? That's all US knows how to do things: condemnation and invasion. You're either with me or against me, my way or the highway.
Sounds like you are describing Russia. They have condemned and brutally invaded a democratic and free country that is of no harm to them. And look ! there were eyes like human eyes in this horn (that became the United States, as Britain's "child"), and there was a mouth speaking arrogantly."(Dan 7:8)
This arrogance that is so pronounced in the United States, will soon be gone, and so will the rest of the political system that has brought nothing but pain and misery to mankind.
This is the reality of international politics. So QinGang said don't be naive.

There are over 5,000 US military bases total,
with 750 bases overseas, in 80 countries and colonies,
the US has more foreign military bases
than any empire or country in world history.
'Forever chemicals' detected in water systems of 2,800 US cities.
Growing concern over PFAS contamination
and pressure on the Environmental Protection Agency to regulate the chemicals in drinking water.
But we’re expected to believe
China and Russia are the real threat for the world
the US intends to defend the "rules-based order"
that Russia and China are posing a challenge to.
Maybe, just maybe she knows more than you do. Maybe she's a professional who knows when she's being conned. His answers are vague and evasive. He refuses to condemn Putin on behalf of China, and that is what she is trying to show you. Thank you, Mr. Ambassador for your patience and tact.
When someone is not brought up right, you get the lady in red. Shame on the parents for not teaching her basic manners.
In this country, we call them a Karen. And this Karen recorded everything for the world to see.
So sad to see her being so aggressive and unprofessional as a interviewer! You invited someone to your show and yet don't hear him talk. You can do better than this, CBS.
This is the essence of freedom of speech, and the freedom to interrupt the speech of others is the most important part of it.
She is so aggressive, arrogant and accusatory. It's very clear the Ambassador is promoting peace.
CBS is being run by Washington. Why even attempt to ask an interview if you doesn't want your guest to speak freely. Just wasting everyone time.
@@manan007 this is not even an interview. More like a court room and is crossing examine a witness. It's never a answer of Yes or No. An intelligent ambassador know how the interviewer will twist his answer for her own objective, which is to smear China stance on this war in Ukraine.
@@manan007 this question is simple, never challenging. The answer is more challenging. But then again, it takes a real thinker to figure that out.

As an Asian living in America, I have the fear I will be hurt by people like this woman, Margaret Brennan, because of her hostility towards China.
He’s an ambassador ffs, isn’t it important for us to hear what he says to understand China’s stance? It’s obvious America’s not gonna change China’s mind, why not just listen and make better judgement. To push a narrative that China doesn’t really acknowledge is useless, no strategic value, only emotional value probably
But to understand what he is saying you hv to understand what he isn't saying so you hv to be good at reading between the lines because he under strict rules on what he is allowed to say so if you read between the lines then you hear him saying without saying that we support Russia and we hv and will send whatever they need to succeed.🤷♂️🤦♂️
@@paulriversred738Fabulous comprehension! Fantastic Punctuation! I realized I now fully understand everything he said after your explanation.
It's hard to hear what he has to say when the host keeps interrupting him. I would love to hear more in-depth conversation from him, instead of him being blasted with questions while he's mid-sentence.

You want to know what China has to say and what their position is (if you think he will say otherwise, you are sadly being misled)? Look no further than China's conduct, actions, and voting (or non-voting) in numerous UN hearings that have been held surrounding the Ukrainian invasion and war. This will tell you all you need to know.
Spin-it anyway you like, this is a war. So, ask yourself - Is war good or evil? When it comes down to it, if one can't decide or distinguish between smack-in-the-face good and evil, instead opting for neutrality (between good and evil). Neutrality in this case sides with evil. Always
As despicable as they are, I have more respect for the 4 UN nations (Syria, North Korea, Belarus, and Eritrea) that voted with Russia, than ANY of the 35 abstaining or 11 non-voting countries (Venezuela can't vote, due to non-payment issues). I was thinking about Trevor as well, someone that can ask 2. question based on your answer to the 1. question. But I guess listening and thinking and forming new questions in a short time are too hard for normal people. So they choose to list their questions before the interview and shout them out with acting emotions no matter what the answers are. Just to say, Trevor is wonderful.
I think he represented his country extremely well
