perfect topic !!!! this bacics knowleadge in terms of aviation meteorology are very usefull for glider pilots, but commercial pilots need it too !!!!! This is what old captains forget and thats why it is fine to remember :) again hovever it seems to be unusefull it is necessary to know . There are million reasons to watch this video ! I have very old meteorology book and sometimes I open it and refresh :) thanks a lot
Hey, i hope you are doing great!! I'm very glad you found the content interesting and refreshing! Many thanks for watching and the great comment! I wish you a great day!
Excellent presentation; just at the end you reduced the SLR with 2 degrees/1000', but should have been 1.5 degrees/1000'. Thanks for your energy input.
Gabrielle your video's really help me. You explain thinks so clear, you have a fan. I am a ppl student. I am reading the chapter about, high/low pressure area's, isobaren, thermische depression, subsidentie, the coriolis force on wind, and so on. Could you make a video about this issue. I would be very gratefull. If i pass my test you Will be the first to now!!!
why does the air stop rising on 11deg stable air? As u said if it reaches dewpoint the lapse rate will be now SLR. 9.5 deg is still warmer than the surrounding air of 9 degrees. Your answer will be much appreciated, thank you!
2 thumbs up for your great explanation Capt Gabriele, so now you start in a weather science or meteolorogy this is very helpful if later on we landed on a weather chart for aviation to understand... Thank you for your video... 👍👍

Thank you so much for this video, after spending many hours trying to understand this topic, i finally understand atmospheric stability!!!
I'm glad to read this!!You are very welcome
A complex topic explained simple and clear.........Very well!!! Thanks
You are welcome! I'm glad you liked the video!! Have a great day

I'm glad you liked the video!! Yes, you are right..I did it just to make the calculations easier 👍.. Many thanks for your kind support!!
Thank you for that easy explanation!
You are very welcome
Muchas gracias por la explicación Gabriele! Actualmente estoy realizando el ATPL y me sirven un montón tus videos! Infinitamente agradecido!

excellent !
Thanks for the support!
you are genius
thank you
Many thanks for your support! You are very welcome!
Excellent thank you
Thank you for ur excellent clip
May i ask a Q
What if the air mass temp is lower than outside temp(ELR)
What will happen??
You are very welcome!
Check this video where I explain it:

@@PILOTCLIMB thank you !!!
I dnt know why i couldnt find this another awesome clip!!
thanks so much my question is why the ELR rate is not the same all the time sometimes 3c / 1000 and sometimes 4c /1000 and how can I know if 3c or 4c.
The real ELR changes constantly depending on the weather.. you should consult a metro station that reports the temperature at various levels 👍
(So I’ve used the winds aloft to get the ELR and I know the DLR is 3/1000ft )How do you calculate the SLR?
The real SLR can change depending on the day. There is a standard SLR
why does the air stop rising on 11deg stable air? As u said if it reaches dewpoint the lapse rate will be now SLR. 9.5 deg is still warmer than the surrounding air of 9 degrees. Your answer will be much appreciated, thank you!

I'm glad you liked the video!! I hope it helped you!! I will make videos about aeronautical charts.. I wish you a great day!
hi captain... is DLR 3 degrees and SLR 1.5 always same?
No, that was just an example, in reality they change all the time depending on the atmospheric conditions
What would happen if the dew point is 10 degree in the given example for stable atmosphere
