'hydrolock' slightly lower, sad because it ruins an engine,
filling car or van with water and opening door to release the flood - priceless!
In the first clip what the driver probably will never ever realise that the fence stopped his car from being carried into deeper water and drowning him

At this point one has to conclude that the people driving full speed into 4ft of flood water are clearly deranged. Clearly !! And once winched out , dried off , should make an appointment with their GP immediately.

These are perfect examples of Plan Continuation Bias where the drivers continue with their plan despite a change in circumstances.
With gethereitis as a complication. Fatigue increases the risk for this sort of occurrence also in those that would not fail like this untired. The inability or unwillingness to consider options when facing new or conflicting information. Self-evident really because considering requires energy which exhausted nerve cells don't have. So the easy option is to resort to trained, automated procedures which means driving ahead in this case.
What drives people to destroy their vehicles so deliberately? A phenomenon that does not open up to me. A driver in his right mind would never be able to do that

We have ours because we have a large family. Strange animals like a crocodile. And then we also use it to pull out drowned Mercedes. Plus go off road. Tow they are just decent trucks tbh. But expensive to maintain and run. Not suitable for everyone

You do have to envy and almost admire people who can write a luxury car off and smile and laugh about it. A different world entirely to most of us. Even if a hydrolocked engine can run valves will probably not be seating with bent stems and a bent con rod can fail after some time. The turbo charger is also running at frightening rpm and not really designed to ingest water. A recent video demonstrated a really unhealthy turbo whine when an engine did restart. Of course how many people are aware of this or even realise engines need air and the prodigious amounts of it is another matter entirely. I suppose fools rush in where angels fear to wade. I suppose an angel wearing wellies would not help the image though these cars are being taken in to water where waders are needed.

It looked nice before it went in the water apart from front bumper damage, plus it was a E320 which has a great engine ( had in this case)

Call me crazy, but I still do not understand fords in the first place. Here in The Netherlands, we would build something called: a bridge. Or, we would create a detour. What is going on in the mind of people just throwing their expensive cars in the water, only a Land Rover with a snorkel will work well. Mostly.

Dunno if you watched the same video we created but the fella came down the road faster then Lewis Hamilton. If you think we stand there and not try prevent people then your wrong, but we can’t stop them all. And frankly we’re not going to endanger ourselves anymore then we do.
