Claude Debussy | The Girl with the Flaxen Hair

On Classical King’s “Northwest Focus Live” with Sean MacLean, pianist Angela Draghicescu & bassoonist Tommy Morrison perform Debussy's The Girl with the Flaxen Hair. Published in April of 1910, La fille aux cheveux de lin, or The Girl with the Flaxen Hair, remains to this day one of Debussy’s most recorded compositions.
Debussy dedicated this piece, among many others from the same period, to Marie-Blanch Vasnier, with whom he was having an affair. La Fille differs from most of Debussy’s other compositions during this period in that it consists of a gentle, lyrical melody and rather bare harmonic accompaniment.
