Apart from his love story or his scandal before, I respect the way he cares about his daughter feelings and situation (the toilet and sleep in one bed).
He lost a piece of himself when his brother died, he holds everything inside you have to grieve and get it out or it festers inside where your heart is. I hope this show mends him.

You don't gain such reputation without smoke.......I always appreciated him, his pereonsl life wasn't my business but I was aware of the casual attitude he had towards dating and relationship,that's why most of us were so happy for him when he announced marriage and pregnancy,he did look happy but he always looked happy... he had a nonchalant views about relationship. I don't want to know what happened with Jim and his ex, I really like her a lot too, but I wish he start to mature a bit,u can't be 20 yo all your life either. They have a beautiful kid,and am happy at least both of them love her enough to keep drama out of her life and respect each others boundaries.

His reputation is the result of his actions… he could have treated his wife like a Queen, considering she also suffered a lot bc she got pregnant while he was in a rs with somebody else (we dont know what he told her… men are witty with their moves and she was also attacked a lot)…
Anyway… he doesnt fit the show… this not “you screwd up, come here and clean your image”.
All men from this show have big issues and in real life these issues weigh a lot, but on tv they make fun of themselves, admit openly they’re not the best and did mistakes and it’s enjoyable to watch… self irony and lets move on…
I agreed with you. I get the vibe that by exposing his personal life and daughter to the world to make him look pitiful. I don’t think this is the right show for him. I’m sure it’s a sensitive subject for the ex-wife, especially when he has done more than enough damage to her in via public.

If you watch the interview they gave when they got married you will understand. He is not a party person, since his brother died in a knife attack he is a quiet man who likes to play golf and spend time with close friends and like all Koreans he likes to drink. Lee dong gun's only crime is that he chose to live his relationships in public, which made him a scapegoat.

I once on an airport see a man struguling with his little girl because he can't go to the women toilet and she didn't wanna go to men's so I enter women's make sure to let know other women there that a man with his little girl was about to enter and everyone says it was fine, then go out and reach to the man to tell him that we were agree on to him be able to enter to take his little girl to the toilets, he was unsure and i think a bit ashamed but do it anyways, when they finished they just went, no big deal, but some men can't bring themselve to ask and some women do not care about a little girl crying to her dad 'cause she want to go to 'girls bathroom', but some others do so if you can offer them a good empathic answer , that would be nice.

He didn't cheat, he is what Korean call a womaniser,a man that don't really invest in any relationship, much casual than faithful and invested. His past relationships were all public, goo hara was often dragged like that, some people seems just not the kind to stick to a partner, have hard time to build long relationship, that's why dating is such a scandal in Korea.....people expect them to be couples for life or at least in serious relationship.

People were mad at him because he never announced publicly that he broke up with jiyeon(the idol) but his problem is simple, he was never in a serious relationship, he didn't mind people thinking she was his girl and they r serious but in reality he wasn't faithful or serious with any of his exes, he did talk about jiyeon as his girlfriend but never really claimed they were a couple, they traveled together,ate together, had fun, but he simply moved on from her without breaking up,that's what knetz dragged him for....jiyeon basically wasn't seeing him for a while but she was never told that he is no more interested in her.

Cheating is not a mistake, its a literal choice and it is not your place to tell if he deserves a second chance because it wasnt you who had to deal with the emotional and domestic abuse that someone now has to heal from, especially when you have kids and when that kid gets older it will eventually find out how your own father mistreated your own mother.
He was given multiple chance tbh. He was caught on so many cheating scandals. Also, he is a grown adult in the right mind, he has his choice to do the right thing but he did not.
