Rich, Your trailer really came out nice (looks fresh from the refurb shop). I think you nailed the wood decking spot on and your separation of the center rails on the deck came out very sharp! The trailer looks good behind either tractor. (thank Mrs. Rich for giving up her 40% off coupon, it was worth it!)
I used Floquil Railroad Colors CSX Yellow F110356. Unfortunately the Floquil line was discontinued by Testor. I used Model Master Chrome Yellow FS13538 for the propeller tips on my P51. it looks like it will make for a good CAT yellow as well.
The wheels on the landing gear was the worse thing they ever put in the old days if you dropped them loaded they would sink in the blacktop, before maxi barkes backing under them. Emty they would roll back hopefully you werent on a encline especialy if someone didnt chock the wheels .
I remember the wheels on old trailer landing gear they sucked if you dropped a loaded trailer they'd sink into the asphalt plus if the trailer didn't have maxi brakes the trailer could roll away on a hill
