- Morning models showing the potential for a soaking rain this weekend in parts of Northern California. Much needed rain and snow!!!! Keep your fingers crossed!
It is so good to see your face. We don't care how you look because you are our friend and beloved teacher. Blessings dear Mark.
Well Said. 👍🏽 Mark has been a part of my life for the last 20 years.
What a kind thought Julianne! Such a nice thing to have shared with him! Such good friends in here!
Good news! Covering up the wood pile!
Hey everyone, you're welcome, I scheduled my daughters birthday party for a local park on Saturday, so naturally it's going to dump for the first time in a month...
Taking one for the team, thanks. Hope you and your daughter have a wonderful day rain or shine!
I washed both cars! But you are getting the bigger issue!
Bring on the rain and snow
I hope it happens. Love those big snowfalls in the Sierra.
I’m so happy we might finally get some weather I can complain about!
Good call 😂
Thank you Mark! Appreciate all you do! Good vibes and healing for you! 🫶🏼
Good morning, Mark.
I'm really glad to hear that you're healing on schedule!
Your videos are the first ones I go to every morning!
Cheers
Thanks Mark, keep up the good work, heal quickly.
The model is "...off its rocker..." - I love it when you use the highly technical terminology.
Heal!
Love these reports. Glad to hear you're healing well too.
Hi Mark, looks like you've had a little Moe's Nose. Glad to see you out here front and center with your bandage. Thank you; that rain potential is very interesting.
Fingers crossed it holds and doesn’t move too much. Glad you’re healing from the removals. As a fair skinned person a few years your senior, I can relate. Thanks again for your great forecasts and associated substantiating data. 👍
I had the mose also. 11 stitches from tear duct to nose hole. Can’t hardly see scar now. Good plastic surgeon impt
Thank you Mark! Take care of yourself and have a great day.
Keep up the great work Mark!
We are getting Closer to reality verse fantasy land! Fingers crossed! Thanks for the briefing! And we enjoyed seeing you again! Best wishes Mark!
Ah Mark.... I'm guessing you've seen the mohs surgeon! I've sported a similar look and can tell you it will get better!
Thank you for all you do.... Looking forward to some rain & snow this weekend!! 🤞
Heal quickly❤
Thanks for the update!
Hope your nose get better soon!
Once again, great content! Your daily report is my daily go to for the weather forecast.
I had two procedures to cut out possible skin cancer last year, glad I did it. 😅
Thank you Mark! Looks like you’re heading up nicely.
Super happy about the rain! It's about time!
You look marvelous!
fantastic news!!!!! good to see that smile mark! making it a great day!
Looks like fantasy land is coming to fruition. Bring it on!
Thanks for the updates - watching closely over the next few days
Thanks Mark. Glad to see you're improving!
Mark, youre back! Youve been missed. I dont watch the TV news anymore but I think of you from time to time. I still joke when im talking to someone about the weather by saying, "Mark Finan would know." Good to see you old TV friend. It doesnt surprise me that youre still doing weather. I also use to joke how cool it would be to sit and look at the clouds with Mark Finan. I pictured you telling me everything there is to tell about a cloud when Id be saying, "that one looks like a rabbit." hahah
Good morning Mark and fellow weather watchers. Mark, even with the Band-Aids on, you are still the face of weather for Northern California. As of 9:10 am it's ☀️ and 42° at the Orchard Cottage Weather Center in Oakdale, CA. Dew Point 38°. Humidity 86%. Winds out of the NNW at 2 mph. Gusts of 3 mph. Barometer 29.92 rising. Morning low 31°. I will do be doing my final dormant spray on my fruit trees today. Bill
Thanks Mark! Looking forward to some wet weather!
Yup, looks just like everyone elses face when that darn sun gets to 'em. It will be fine, just gotta be patient!
Could you maybe tell the storms to only show up during the week? My jewelry booth canopy is developing holes, you see....😝
Rains good, but....sigh...prepping and re-prepping is a pain.
Thanks for the awesome information, I've followed you for awhile and trust your opinion. I'm supportive of anyone who take melanoma seriously, my husband died from a very fast moving strain. Be well dude!!! Thanks again
Thank you, for the divergent and sightless your reports are as good as ever.
Thank You Mark for the updates!!!!
👍 thank you for report
Thank you, Mark! I love learning abt weather from you!
So glad you’re here! Take good care and heal soon.❤
Yes, it is reflecting the effect of the elevation over the Sierras
Words to live by as far as California winter weather is concerned: "We shall see"
Good morning Mark ! Thanks for the morning briefing, the news is encouraging !
Awesome! Thank you, Mark. It is good to see you!
Great video mark.
Thanks for the breakdown Mark. It will be interesting to see how this weather event plays out.
If sutured shut, once the sutures are removed and the wound no longer open, a silicone product like Stratoderm will help the scar disappear. There are other silicone products.
Well, my birthday is next week and right on cue, it’s going to rain! Not going to complain. We need the rain and I enjoy seeing all the water flowing in the foothills after a good soaker. Hopefully it pans out!
Thank you for the rain!
I was starting to lose some hope about winter after such a dry January. These are hopeful forecasts. I'm at 3000 elevation along highway 108...foothills
I live off Hwy 108 also. Jamestown Sonora area, around 1600 ft. Yeah it's been a dry January but I haven't lost hope. We still have February, March, and April for potential good rain, and snow. I've seen this before.
Thank you Mark!
Thanks Mark!!
Thank you!
Mark, please for the love of god don't tempt us railfans with the idea of watching Union Pacific break out the rotaries this weekend!
Wow! Hope you’re ok, I thought you had a new nose for a second!
Looking good Mr Mark👍🏻 glad you’re in good hands, it’s amazing how the head, neck and eyes heal so quickly. Thanks for the good news on the moisture!! ☔️ it’s been very dry since the gusty winds. I will plan indoor projects, time to tackle my closets! This weather event looks custom made just for us in NorCal!! Do we have low temperatures or winds for this weekends excitement? Make it a great day!
Wind does not look like an issue yet but wouldn't be surprised to see the models ramp that up a little. Also fairly warm. Overnights will be warmer than they have been for a couple of weeks
@ yes here in Paradise it’s been chilly breezes and quite nippy at night but the sun is trying to be warm. Although it’s been in the minuses in Ohio so I’m not complaining! 😀 love to see some snow again like we were surprised with last March , that was fun ❄️
My neighbor had stage 4 melanoma and they just recently got the report back after taking something called fendbend. She no longer has it, she is in her late 60s to 70s. 😮❤
Ah...rain.
Time to cover up the lumber. It was a productive January!
We all have stuff happen. Don't worry about the looks at all!
Yes, and it's also the vibration of a person, and yours' Mark is very sweet and caring. Bravo
Bullseye over Grass Valley. 😮
When/what are the indicators that would hint a shifting of that narrow band to the north or south? I assume a dip in pressure on either side?
Jackson in the building.
Not sure what happened with your nose, but it reminded me of the time I had a tiny wart/mole removed from the tip of my nose. It was unexpectedly painful, and also impossible to bandage in a way that doesn't draw everyone's attention
MOHS surgery to remove some skin cancer
A Nose for weather
Is there a name for fear of Atmospheric River?
Bring back the winter of 2017!!!! Flooding rain, winds of 60-70 😊😊😊😅😮❤💪🚨
no thanks.
What's that shadow on the first satellite chart?
Be careful what we wish for.🤣
When are you going to bring rain to SoCal? lol
Haven’t been here in awhile. What happened to your poor nose? Thanks for your report!
Skin cancer.... getting better tho!
You never mentioned how low the snow level may go for the foothills.
I think I mentioned Friday in the 6000-6500' range. Details beyond that are too tough to call right now but will be clearer in the next few days. At this point, this does not look like a 'low snow' event
Looks like my historical prediction of the end of the mid winter drought being February 1 is about to come true.
Frostbite Mark? Climate change?
Your PSA @ skin and example, might be even more poignant than the weather?
Meanwhile, bring it on. What will be will be.
Do you think the decision makers, politicians and residents of CA will ever be good stewards of our environment and learn something @ fire, forest, water, fuel breaks etc?
