'23 XSR9 here.. W/dominator twin can exhaust. VcycleNut's flash rocks! Best $300 mod you can do. Even if you decide to keep stock exhaust, you need this re-flash.
I have a 2016 Fz09, with a black widow full exhaust, after I had vcyclenut tune my ecu. It became a complete different animal. Throttle choppyness was almost completely eliminated and decel is amazing. Highly recommended to do this with a full system.
Did you install the block off plates? I forgot what they're called but I already bought them a few months ago. They have something to do with deceleration. Thanks.
I had him tune my FZ1 a couple months ago, well worth every penny. Free life time tunes, just pay shipping. Turn around was great. 4 days I think from the time I sent it out til I got it back.
I have this flash on a 2017 XSR900, with an Akra exhaust and Sprint air filter. It's super smooth, and he's very quick to respond to emails. I get a decent amount of burble when decelerating, but no popping or flames.
I had David from vcyclenut do the woolich tune on my 2018 MT10 two weeks ago and HOLY SHIT. It is awesome. So worth it. Best power mod period. Bike runs smoother than from factory only took 3 days total! Well done my friend 👌🏽
I'm a big fan of all your FZ/MT 09 instructional video's. Way to keep these video's short, clean and to the point. Just some MODS I'll do in 2021. Would like to see you do any of these: -installation of 320mm front rotors with spacers -larger master cylinder with bracket -steering dampener -basic maintenance like lubing cables, front shock service, front brake service, greasing swing arm pivot and keeping your 09 in pristine condition Much appreciated
All good ideas. I’m definitely liking the idea of upgrading the brakes! I also have a throttle body sync to do so I might as well film it. Thanks for watching 👍
Had mine flashed using the woolich flash- and wow its woken it up- video coming soon! If you havent already, try TC off- with the woolich software its amazing how much the standard mode maps are changed. (not too sure about the vcyclenut) Cheers!
Got the M4 slip on installed today was super easy time for the flash she’s much louder then I expected so I might piss off some naibors so I’m going to have to find a silencer that may be a little quiter but at least I’m safer now she was just to quite no on was hearing me coming on the freeway split commute thanks man
Ordered and shipped the flash for mine last Saturday. Lost my tracking code so I have no idea where my ecu is right now but I’m excited to get it back (hopefully not lost in the mail)
Thanks so much. I was going to wait for the winter because i thought the turn around time was long for some reason. I may do it sooner now. Thanks again!!
Ya daves great to work with, unfortuneately he wasnt able to figure out a flash for me but I did get my quick shifter & sprint filter from him. Re: your airbox mod. I did the same to my Z900 while the ecu was out. I did mine using the guide on Ivan's website & according to his dyno run graphs it literally made a 5hp increase over stock sitting on a dyno!! I'm guessing it's bc the z900's intake is literally only 2 square holes of about 1-1.5" on top of the airbox, underneath the gas tank. After my mod the intake is noticeably louder & pretty sure the exhaust is too, but without a doubt, you can really feel it in the top end. Of course that's with the sprint filter too though. That said i actually used the metal screen from the z900's stock filter to cover all of the new 1" holes in my airbox. If you use a step / uni-bit for drilling, the holes will come out perfectly smooth. I used some small pan head screws that fit through the holes in the screen, pre-drilled for them & then secured on the backside with silicon so they'd never come out, but you could also use flat locking tabs / nuts made for screws from lowes or Home depot etc. Wish I could add some pics bc it came out perfectl. A new kawi filter is like $15 & the steel mesh is really thin & solid, maybe there are some cheaper filters that use the same style mesh though. Either way, if your inlets are similarly small, I'd def reco taking the time to do it & do it right, I'm def impressed with the difference it made on my bike. Good luck & Great review ✌
Hey MotoSouth!! I was wondering if you could make a detailed video of the front and rear wheel removal and install? I’m trying to save a little money when doing tire changes and I just wanna make sure I do everything correctly. Thanks man!
Great videos. I subscribed when I stumbled onto your videos when trying to decide between the MT-07 or MT-09. (I found a deal on a 2015 FZ-07 I couldn't pass on). Listening to you, I knew you weren't far from me and after watching this video it looks like we're in the same town. #supportlocal.
Definitely a great video thank you for taking the time to put that together and doing such a great job I’m going to add my M4 to my 2018 MT 09 tomorrow I will definitely look into the flash next awesome video

On a stock 2020 MT-009 would there be a benefit to having the ECU flashed? Also how do you like that throttle lock? Did it slip at speed? I have the same unit on another bike.
Definitely benefits a stock bike as well. It will make it much smoother and you can choose options like removing the speed limiter and having the fan come on sooner so your bike runs cooler. And if you decide to add an exhaust later, he will re flash it for you 👍
hey man i got a question, iv got a stock 2019 MT 09 but the first thing i want to enable is quickshiting and autoblipping before i do a pipe and the airbox mod ect.. , and i want to take advantage of the $20 bucks off , im looking at this : woollich racing Race Tools: Quickshifter, Launch Control, Pit Speed Limiter, my question is for US$481.00 am i getting everthing i need for quickshifting and autoblipping in that kit plus i pay him $250 on top of the $481? Am i looking at this correctly ? Happy safe riding - DaveD
Race tools is a woolich add on available on top of the woolich flash. The flash is still $250 and you need the race tools on top of that. So it’s $750 total. This includes everything you need for the quick shiftet/Autobliper and launch control. I don’t make any money on the race tools as I am not a dealer for woolich I offer it as an option for my customers so they can add it. I have to order the race tools from Woolich so that the race tools license is added under my account to flash it to the Ecu. Any other questions please let me know
I noticed that you put your factory headlight back on did the Kenmoto headlight not work good? I like your videos you have the exact same bike I do expect for different mods done to it.
I've mimicked your mods on my 2015 FZ-09, I had a question about the shift rod install as I'm stuck on that part! Do you have any tips for the shift rod install? P.S. Gosh darn it was hard to get to that last spark plug (the cap being turned around)
@@MotoSouth I believe it has good distance between the engine, my questions are in the spacing on the threaded rods. I have quite a bit of thread showing from the annitori quick shifter to the rose joint (I believe it's called)
MotoSouth gotcha. I reached out to Vcyclenut and explained what I was looking for. He did mention that fuel consumption could change but didn’t know to what capacity. Thanks again for the reply.
You remove your ECU under the gas tank, mail it to Vcyclenut after purchasing the service on his website. More details there. Turnaround time is generally a week or less which is very good.

@@MotoSouth ohh ok. Thanks so much. Everything I read online and companies I reach out to ALL say that I must have a tune when I put on the full exhaust.
Why people want to "smooth out" a three cylinder enginge famous for its aggression and character? To compensate for the lack of riding skills? Buy an inline four if you want smoothness. For power? You get minimal gains after a flash and 99% of rider's out there couldn't tap into it anyway. As an MT-09 owner as I rack up the miles I feel less and less the need to get the bike flashed, except for the suspension.
The smoothness from a flash is referring to the on/off throttle transitions. It doesn’t change the character of the engine. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone ever say they regretted having their 09 flashed by VCyclenut. If you enjoy a jerky throttle then keep doing what you’re doing. That’s the beauty of customization, making the bike the way you want it.
