Android allows you to hide certain icons or apps from your home screen. If you find the settings app is missing from your home screen I walk you through several ways to find the settings app and restore it back to your home screen.

hey, i recently got my moms old phone, and ive been trying to connect to my wifi and some other things. but, the settings icon isnt on home screen nor my apps. and it wont let me into the settings when i tap the gear icon on the dropdown, any suggestions. im worried. ive factory resseted the phone and i still wont work. pleas help
The System should set up Settings devices icon on home screen. Don't understand what to do from videos.
Just instal Full Settings Devices app and WhatsApp facility icon on home screen front page. Nothing more.
Nope, I can access the app in setting but cannot add the app icon back to the homepage.

It helped! Though I couldn't find home screen section under the display category on my phone (xiomi note 5 plus), at least I learned to access the settings through the drop down menu on the top of the screen. (Never knew, the settings gear icon is there). Thank you.

My mother's new Nokia G20 has no visible settings icon, and there's no "Home screen" category in the settings either. Settings are only accessible via the dropdown menu. It's baffling to me that the icon is hidden from the factory, and that it's even legal to hide such a basic functionality. Who ever thought this would be a good idea?

How do you change what the home button on bottom shows you. For some reason my original apps page was changed. I don't want the factory default.
Thanks a lot man. It was driving me crazy. It madness how the Google store and Setting just get trap in there. Why ? Cause somehow my father manage to god know how put it in there and then said to me: “it just suddenly disappear”. I know that he is clearly doesn’t know how to use some of the BASIC ability of the phone but he somehow know how to drive me crazy with all the accident. It puzzle me. Is he actually testing me or something? Like how ? Anyway thanks A LOT.

I went to the top right hand corner of the flower looking icon and it wasn't there.
My screen is going over the phone. Like I can't see all my messages because it goes off my screen?

Nope, this didn’t work on my brand-new Moto Edge phone, BUT I eventually found where they hid the Settings icon:
From the home screen, swipe down. The top box will show various icons, but not the Settings icon.
BUT, if you swipe down AGAIN inside that top box, it expands to include more icons. Now don’t be fooled by the line at the very top with a Settings icon about three-quarters of the way across. This doesn’t work (it’s for decoration, I guess?).
BUT at the bottom right hand corner of the box, finally, there’s a TINY SETTINGS ICON that actually takes me to Settings. Sheesh.
