This was a great musical I’ve actually performed it myself I was Horton the elephant but I can feel the pain backstage in the heat because it’s gonna be really hot with all that make up and costume
That awkward moment when a production by 8th graders arguably has better costumes and sets than the actual Broadway version.

This is by far the best version of Seussical I have seen on TH-cam. The Cat is really talented and he was casted perfectly. I'm the Cat in the Hat in my school's production, and this cat is really good.

definitely the best performance i can find online. costumes, acting, singing, makeup, choreography is all amazing.
During the possible song the poor kid had a bunch of voice cracks but played it off like a god 🤣

Ever since my theatre group's production of Seussical ended, I just keep coming back to this! Such incredible set, props and costumes and such talented kids; really puts my post-show blues as The Cat at bay :)

@@Raine_isgay hey! I would say the biggest thing is just be imaginative and completely buy into the story- as far as musicals go it’s a bit more wild and out there but it is an absolute blast to perform! Have fun and always keep that child-like wonder about everything in it

The cat in this was perfect, same as everybody else but when I did this I played the cat and so I guess I understand the character more but as I said, he did really well!

HannahPlays everyone in the scene hade a small flashlight and then when It got to the more negative part of the song they pulled out the flashlights and waved them in circles!

Am I the only person who thinks the girl who played Mrs. Mayor was suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper talented? I think she got a bit of a bad role for that much talent. I think she fits a better role like Gertrude, or even JoJo. Gosh, she’s a great actor!

Me too but he got through it and recovered his voice for the most part. Stuff happens in live theater. Next performance he was fine!
Why
Because it’s there big time to shine and they have a voice crack and loose there voice. Sometimes it can get funny but not for them. It’s really embarrassing. That’s why I feel bad for him.

Wow... I️ am thoroughly impressed, especially because this is a middle school production featuring grades k-8! Costumes were colorful and vibrant. Set was great. Props look amazing. Hortons singing is outstanding. Cat and JoJo are exceptional actors and are always on point. Mr. Mayors and Mrs. Mayors voice blend beautifully together. Gertrude and Mayzie are awesome! The ensemble is also great. Considering the fact that some high schools can’t even put up productions as close to great as this I️ give this production a 9/10. Beautiful!

Even though at first mayzie sounds bad at first, when u listen to it alot I kinda like it for her character
I auditioned for Jojo, Gertrude, mayzie and sour kangaroo but I got a lead in my last play (middle anna) so I got bird girl and wickersham (2 casts) so I am really happy with it and my crush is in this so I get to sing to him as a bird girl lol
i loved that mayzie scream in the first song lol. im auditioning for gertrude on saturday, wish me luck!

Dang the Cat In The Hat is funny and a good actor.
i did seussical in school and it was so annoying. all the popular kids (who couldnt sing) got all the main roles and i (someone who does theatre out of school) got A callback and was given a wickersham brother. I WAS PERFECT FOR CAT IN THE HAT. then they made all the wickersham lines all as one so we all had no individual lines then they added kids who didnt get callbacks and the one line of the wickershams was given to a kid who didnt get a callback. horton especially couldnt sing. this trainweck makes cat my dream role and i watch this vid all the time to "prepare" if i ever get the role. there are so many other schools doing it on youtube and this is by far my fav. i love that you posted this Xx

Literally the exact same with me at my School, I got wickersham and the girl who got Cat in the hat didn’t even like her part
i literally wanted mazie but some girl with a horrible raspy voice got mazie and now im stuck as sour kangaroo because her mom was in the main board. But everyone says i was perfect for any role and actually deserved her part!
No Vlog sour kangaroo is still a great part and its a fun role!

This is amazing, i did the musical and i was lucky enough to receive the part of Gertrude the 1 feathered tail bird. It was an experience i have never felt before, indescribably good. Absolutely outstanding.
We just wrapped ours up tonight. I was jojo! It was a really fun experience
Gertrude was a bit pitchy on the high notes but she is so darn pretty.
She embodies the character imho. Singing is almost secondary.

One of the best amateur performances on TH-cam (K-8 graders notwithstanding). Costumes are superb, acting and singing are above average, directing is so clever and the video production is actually watchable. Tip of my hat to everyone involved.

Thanks for your kind comments! The school is a very small arts magnet program with a director who understood how to get the best out of her students. She was also brilliant with costuming, sets, blocking and so much more. I always wondered how we were lucky enough to have her.

One of my first plays ever was suessical, and I was the little sour kangaroo, I was six years old.
So good watch the whole thing it is worth your time
i just remembered this video, last time i watched this was 2017 and i didn't have a youtube account yet, now i can finally comment on this. the gertrude here was so cool, with a bit more practice they definitely have a future in theatre. the cat was well casted and has so many opportunities ahead of them. this was a great production and looking back, i wish my school did theatre more. it seems so fun.
