Hi ZapDiabetes! CyberneticSamantha here! So glad to see someone else is doing this, I was on the priority access program and got the 630g pump and noticed there were NO personal experience reviews of it. It would have been nice for sure. So I thought I would put it out there for the 670g.
Excited to see more videos! Feel free to take a look at mine as well!

Thanks again! I'm glad someone is doing this. There aren't many personal insight videos on the 670g.

I’ve had so many issues with Medtronic. They never call back and it’s been the biggest hassle ever trying to get my pump. It was worse than working with an insurance company. You would think they would actually want to sell you a pump cuz that’s how they make money 🙄
Anyway. Thanks for the vid. I’m trying to get mine going cuz they made it seem really difficult to get training on it

For me I’ve never had issue with Medtronic. I’ve always had issue with Edgepark

Awesome video! I can't find many at all of the 670g. My insurance is getting verified and all that good stuff and then this will be my first ever pump. =)

AMANDA RANDOM that's awesome! You'll figure out the pros and cons real quick. I do believe the pump pros win out big time though.

Ok yes I am so glad that you are inspired to use your new 670G but I am so glad that you did tell your viewers not to start using the insulin pump without the training! I know it's always hard to wait when you get new Medtronic devices the settings and things are adjusted by both your healthcare provider and or your trainer that's some of why they want you to wait before you start and also the pump learns from your manual input before going Into auto mode this is why they ask for you to wait until you receive your Sensors before starting to use the insulin pump! But it's great that you are showing others how to set their pumps up!

Thanks for watching. They have told me to switch to this pump, before the sensors come in October. They have a lot of pumps and not enough sensors. I was on a Revel that is out of warranty and non functional. So my upgrade time was now and I don't have the funds to upgrade from a 630 to 670 later. They are also running low on sensors for the 630.. from what I understand anyway. I covered the Medtronic and doctors advice, because I am not a doctor. However, I have been a pump user since 2001 so I am not blind in all this going on. I have used my long term knowledge coupled with the manual for the 670g. I would always advise what the user feels comfortable with and with advise of a doctor. I look forward to letting others now more about my type 1 history on Tuesday in my next video!

I have been a diabetic since I was 18months old. I didn't wanna wait either!!! But I've had three other pumps. Just a got rusty on it, especially with what I don't know about the newer ones.

I also had terrible customer service from Medtronic. My pump broke down and it took 2 days to even get ahold of them. This was after hours and hours on the phone and many emails.

I’ve always had great customer service from Medtronic. My 530g died on July 4.
I had a Medtronic loaner pump on July 6 before noon.
      Had a new 670g on July 13

I mistakenly pressed the reservoir and tubing button. Do you know how to totally reset the pump

Do you need a new reservoir every time the insulin runs out?

I receive mine tomorrow, but I won't get my sensor until Oct. The rep on the phone told me "the pump won't work without the CGM sensor". Is this accurate?

    • @RobertlovesLeslie
      @RobertlovesLeslie 7 ปีที่แล้ว

9StickNate No it will still work. I got my 670G a few weeks ago then a week later I went to my training class. I am also waiting on the sensor. I have never used a pump before. Mine came with the Contour Next Link 24 glucose meter. It says on the box that it is exclusive to the Minimed 630 and 670G. Once it is all set up the meter connects to your pump through Bluetooth so once you check your sugar it sends it directly to the pump and then the pump asks you if you want to bolus or not. It has the bolus wizard which tells you how much you need to correct your number if high. My trainer set up all of the amounts for me and my doctor tweaked it a little a week later. So mine works great without the sensor, although I am told it will work even better once I get it. I hope I didn't bore you to death with all of this. It is just so new to me. I have never had a pump before so all of this is literally life changing. Good luck!!

Guys I have a question: what do you think about touch screen in infusion pumps? It is less safe?

You are the first person other than myself that I have heard called a type 1.5 (moody) diabetic. I went from insulin injections to metformin to an insulin pump after I was finally ruled as a type 1 diabetic. I was not diabetic until I was 14 and apparently my pancreas quit working (type 1), started working marginally when I was 17 (type 1.5) , then completely failed (type 1 again) when I was 19. It was really weird and the endocrinologist that i was seeing was fascinated by my condition. I'm now 27 and definitely a type 1 diabetic and I'm really looking forward to the new 670g system!!!
