FILMCLUB Live: Private Peaceful

Book-to-film adaptations are sometimes the most difficult to judge. If you've read the book yourself you may have your own ideas of how the characters look, or how the story plays out. It's true to say that getting a film adaptation right in an art in and of itself!
Michael Morpurgo's Private Peaceful was a much loved novel, then a much loved stage play, and we think it's set to be a much loved film! Screenwriter Simon Reade and actor George Mackay came in to talk about the adaptation process, and how they made those war scenes feel so realistic.
