H/H match update for episode 1387: ... ~~~Today's action: Turns out Nipsey Russell isn't the only Match Game poet-in-residence: Bowzer opens the show today with his Ode to Match Game... Our champion is defeated, but thanks to a $10K H/H match with Fannie in 1385, she won a total $11,200 in her two-game reign. *Today's audience match question: "________Beat"* My thoughts: Tiger, Teen, Dead The celebs: Charles (Heart), Brianne (Tiger), Bob (Dead) The choice: Heart (The audience likes it, but not overwhelmingly.) The answers: Off, Down, Heart Our champion's faith in Charles pays off today! Now she gets to play for $10,000 with Bob Barker! Stats: Bob scored his first H/H match in 1290, which was his third attempt. *Today's H/H question: "_______and Nonsense"* (Stuff. I can't think of anything else. Nothing.) This one sounded hard to me, but it seems easy for them: The new champ is smiling right away, and Bob finishes his answer in just a few seconds. The champ is ready with her answer, but she shakes her head as she offers it: "Fun," she says. The audience is sadly disappointed. No applause at all. Bob, however, came up with my answer. (Or, more accurately, I came up with the answer he thought of way back on December 16, 1978.) "Stuff" he wrote. (After the question, Gene also suggests "Sense and Nonsense" as a possible answer.) No H/H match today. ~~~Here's our standing leader board showing the 11 celebs with at least 3 H/H matches, ranked by accuracy: (An asterisk before a celebrity's name signifies that she or he has "retired" from the show and their H/H stats are now complete.) I tried watching match game 90s, but didn't like the panelists with the exception of Brett and Charles, however if they had Brad Garrett as a full time panelist I woulda stuck with it because he's a genuinely funny man.
He made pretty frequent appearances on Match Game, so you can look for him in previous episodes. Some of his earliest appearances are hilarious, and he talks about The Price Is Right a LOT! 😊
I'm obviously a weirdo. For the "he couldn't see because instead of a baby shoes hanging from his mirror, he had _______s " -- I said he had "babies" hanging from the mirror. (But the truly weird thing was, the babies were reading "Tiger Beat" magazine!)
That's because Gene Rayburn wanted to do Match Game Hollywood Squares all by himself and not share hosting duties. That was stated in an interview by his daughter. I don't know why they would use Bowzer instead of another bonafide host of the time like Tom Kennedy, Jim Lange or Wink Martindale.
9:11 Brianne anwserd Tight Beat she said its a Magazine Heres brett whats that a song..blab blab. They should have replace brett she know nothing about anything she not up to date, she slows the show down alway interrupting with stupid questions......why camera time, the lady asked for Charles and their brett had to get in the shot. 8:57
I think it’s extremely RUDE, when the contestant does not go up to thank the celebrity for giving them the answer! They only do it when they win the money sometimes

I gotta say in his Sha Na Na days Bowzer was just adorable. I love his big grin!
He is cool! Fun!
👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
My sister used to subscribe to 🐯 beat magazine back in the mid 70s, I wonder if they'd have any monetary value today
I really love Brianne Leary's look with the cap she wore :)
I think she's much prettier without the cap, to each his own I suppose
I think she wears it well because I believe she's 100% Irish
Well Gene, next time wear brown socks w/ a blue suit! :D
Bowzer is 1 real cool dude !!!
And 1 lousy speller
If you say so

When Bowzer read his poem, he sounded just like Raymond`s brother Robert from Everybody Loves Raymond
Other people have said that!!
@@Katzi_ Both are baritones

yea, know that you mention it, he DOES sound like Robert
I was thinking bird bath or dog's water dish for the mail.
Strange seeing Bob Barker in a somewhat different setting.

Bowzer the ultimate one trick pony .

Amazing how Gene Rayburn and Bowzer were on The Match Game in the 70’s, and they didn’t like working together in 1983. Weird, don’t you think?
That's because Gene Rayburn wanted to do Match Game Hollywood Squares all by himself and not share hosting duties. That was stated in an interview by his daughter. I don't know why they would use Bowzer instead of another bonafide host of the time like Tom Kennedy, Jim Lange or Wink Martindale.
The reason they did not use Peter Marshall for the HS was due to his loyalty to the producers of the original HS.@@theoriginaljrest
Stuff and Nonsense was such a well-known idiom. Hard to believe the dingbat blew it by not saying that.
I never heard of it
@@beckydutra6543 You may be too young.
I only know it from Anne of Green Gables. It was one of Marilla's favorite phrases.
I love you bowzer

12:28 who's voice is THAT??
I’ve heard a bunch of random noises in their recordings. It’s weird
