You should challenge Amanda the Jedi. Winner gets to keep being Amanda. Loser has to spend a year introducing herself as 'Mandy'.

i like that they didn't do a rivalry thing. It's a charity match, if they were going to have fake beef leading up to it, I would've checked out ages ago

    • @tizzytaz3321
      @tizzytaz3321 2 ปีที่แล้ว +92

Oh yeah, and especially with this group the fake beef just wouldn't work quite as well. The Paul Brothers and Austin McBroom can pull it off because that's how they sell themselves, but when you have people like Idubbz, Supermega, Minx, Internet Comment Etiquette, Theodds1out, Arin, Harley, etc it would not work. They're more 'down to earth' and some actively talk/talked about fake beef and fakeness seeing it as a weird and petty way to make a quick buck. So if they went that route, they (probably) would've gotten alot of backlash

    • @keuric

      Word.
This was very intentional and it was why I was interested. I wanna see what creators I like did to try something new, the work they put in and then getting to express this alternative content in the form of this sport that has, the last ten years, really felt like a goddamn joke. I don’t need a storyline, the WWE can do that badly enough for all of us.
I didn’t even realize Michael Reeves was in it and I loved his style and form. He was a tough sumbitch. Magee too-he started strong, then struggled and as the time was coming up, he seemed to get it back. I don’t want these guys to pretend to hate each other. I want the hugs. I want them to try and do a thing against someone and be a good loser or a good winner. It’s charity.
I felt real bad for Matt Watson. Not because he did badly, or is some giant puss, but because he probably worked really, really hard and could not be prepared for the hurricane that him full force like it did. He got to show very little for what was likely a lot of effort.
The Haley-Yodeling fight isn’t improved by fake conflict, their match is so compelling all on its own, and is a huge standout.
Maybe it would’ve sold some of the event more, but to me, I just think it’s a good cause, generally creative and cerebral folks trying something new, and some serious surprises from the whole thing.
      I’d watch a sequel.

Like Reeves and Grahams rivalry was over a goldfish. Thats just perfect.
Let it be what it is, entertainers who are willing to put the time in to train, to have a fight, for charity. If there is a rivalry that comes out of a fight or two, cool, but not every PPV boxing or mma fight is between 2 heated rivals. Sometimes its 2 guys or girls who respect each other enough to give each other all they have.
Dad having a bodybag. Great joke.
Harley gave Arin all the props in the world for stepping into the ring with him.
Its all respect and fun. Keep it that way.
Greater fighter parity would be more what I would want.
Arin and Harley are just different levels.
Same with idubz and Dr Mike.
Michael and Graham looked like that in the ring, but I think it was more Reeves putting in the/ more prep to be a fighter.

But isn’t it a competition, someone has to win.

What you said about unequal promotion from the fighters seems really true to me. I follow both Dad/Nathan and Michael Reeves and Nathan posted multiple times as both himself and in character as Dad and I was very aware that he was going to be fighting, but I literally had no idea that Michael was involved at all until I heard about it afterwards.

The lack of cringy beef and massive fragile as glass egos made this so much better. I loved how wholesome it was. Fighters giving each other respect before and during the fights. The hugs, smiles, and compliments after each one. It makes boxing much more approachable to new people.

I think calling Michael Reeves a chaotic machinist sells short just how much of a gremlin he is but that was a pretty fair fight. Experience is often a big factor in boxing-it’s something investment dude may have had more of so age was irrelevant IMO. But yes please more gorl matches! Maybe start casually training so for the next event you can pop in and say ‘Im a bit of a boxer myself’ ❤️

I was in the livestream for creator clash and it was so much fun! I personally liked that there wasn't any forced rivalry but I agree that there should've been more build up from the creators themselves. Ryan and Alex's fight was hype as hell and was kind of a Rocky moment. The chat dubbed Ryan the Iron Giant and boy did he live up to it. Minx and Haley's fight was another gem and I really liked that you mentioned the national anthem. It was a glorious trainwreck that just kept a dumb smile on my face the entire time.
Overall an unexpectedly great time for me as someone who was never into watching sports in general. I got my money's worth and the only issue I had was that I and some other people thought there'd be a mystery fight bc of how the website advertised the matches. Oh and there was like 0 moderation in the chat until like 2/3 of the way into the event and the moderation was pretty bad even then. Luckily it was only like a few people just spamming the n-word, but it's just crazy that momenthouse refused to ban them.
Didn't know you were so down to scrap lol I'm def here for it

idubbbz uploaded the full stream of the fight to his YT channel. It really was a full house. But I’m not surprised. Because all the fighters were creators with good reputations and very large followings. Mostly adult fans too, not kids. I like how professional it all was. No trashy fake rivalry.

Something of note about the posters and representing your respective content creator was that the security detail for the event had mixed signals on the inclusion of signs. While I was in line to enter the event, several people with homemade signs were turned away at the front of the stadium (my assumption being that the event venue didn't want posters to obscure the view for other guests) however the application of this rule wasn't applied evenly as there were some posters across the crowd.

Dad and Matt Watkins did do a little trash talk but overall I liked seeing the creators interact with each other before the match whether it was joking trash talk or a genuine conversation, like Michael Reeves and Graham Stephen had on a podcast. I’d prefer each creator have the autonomy to decide if they want to drum up drama or be transparent about their journey.

The kind of rivalry I would like to see in an event like this would be the kind of jokey manufactured rivalry a la Contrapoints and Lindsay Ellis, where they're like, "That's right, this is a feud! We're feuding! Buy our feud merch!" But they're actually besties and everyone knows it.

Michael was simply able to put more time in to training and even sparred with a world champ or something i heard. I think even Graham admits to that fact. He has a busier life and so probably sparred less times than Michael which equates to muscle memory and being able to stay in control and keep up your stance.

The only creator I actively followed that didn't heavily advertise their fight was probably Micheal. Grumps, Dad, I Did A Thing, and Erik all had a ton of fun hyping up this event.
Its just really fun to see all the boys from the grungey era of TH-cam still thrive in their fields after moving on to other things, Idubzz, Joji, and the Coldones, lasting with their creativity and talent harder than any drama or commentary channel from the time.

I think a lot of the fighters made it really clear how much they wanted to win. I think a lot of the ones that I saw promote it in advance portrayed it as "I'm going into this to show myself and everyone else that I can put up a better fight that they think". I think that was pretty alight. I think there could have been more marketing. I would definitely like to see you take part next time.
I would also like to see a lot of creators that you wouldn't expect join next time. If they take it seriously it's really interesting to follow how they train leading up to the match and if they can perform during the match.

I kinda take your point on the rivalry aspect because the fights I cared about most were the ones that H3 featured (the headline, ABs and Matt v Dad) and there was some story behind. Theyre what sold the ticket to me. But I did enjoy it regardless and don't know if that really played into my investment in each fight once it got going.
I think my favourite fight was the women's fight. They did so damn well, I would have loved to have see it go to full time.
Overall I loved the event and hope there's another one. Not sure who I would want to return, but if Anisa was able to fight (I believe she was told to drop out this one) that would be great as I know she really wanted to. Sort of torn between wanting redemption arcs for the people that didn't do so well and wanting the absolute beasts to come back and take on better matches. Don't think I would want any 1:1 rematches, really.
