Hi Sam that was jolly interesting , like how easy it was to whittle down what was right for you , good luck look forward to the next one , hope Dad is ok
Thanks a bunch for the awesome video! I've been using it ever since and it's made my life so much easier. Can you share all the paperwork in a video you need to have and handle to customers from warranty to invoice? And how you organise your paperwork please
Like google sheets, use it a lot. Did think you could do another column with your own car score. 1= Best 10 = worst, then score each car in your shortlist. Highest margin = 1, lowest margin = 10 (based on 10 cars obvs) then same score for AT Retail rating, highest % = 1, lowest = 10. Add the 2 scores together then divide by 2 to score your potential auction beauties from 1 to 10. Or don't. Laters 👋
Hi Sam, thanks for another fascinating vid! My interest is in classic cars so I’m wondering if a similar or modified approach could be applied to the classics world!
OOh, im not sure. possibly but mainstream data may not cover these cars for obvious reasons. AI may be able to help but it will need some very specific prompts!
Thanks so much Sam! I'm used to using spreadsheets and excel so I'm really keen to use this when I get started. One question...do you take the Auto Trader retail estimate as gospel or do you adjust based on any live data? I say this as I looked at that first car on the AB auction list (BMW 3 series Touring 2021, 30k miles) and found cars on Autotrader that were newer with only 6k miles at £37k. That's the bit that worries me most - the margin may not be as it seems and that's a key criteria for bidding on cars and making a margin. PS. Hope your Dad is doing okay. Cheers, Marc
Hi Marc, It's an interesting one. If that car was specked up to the hills it would fetch a higher retail price from Autotrader. I didn't look at that car in detail so I couldn't really say. I never use Auto traders retail valuation as gospel, just as a guide. Its a good starting point and we must also consider that cars will fetch alot less in some cases. For people starting out and dipping their toe in the boiling water, data can really help and Autotrader is a good starting point. I went to try and buy a Mokka yesterday and the bloody thing went 1.5K above cap. I always try and have about 5 or 6 cars studied in detail when I physically go to an auction as you will get the odd car that does cartwheels in price either way! With time and knowledge in the industry and within ones niche, one will be able to see if the cars are over or under priced. BMW's are not really my bag but the mummy trucks are and I'm slowly getting a good understanding of where the market really is for those cars. Dad is doing much better thank you!
Harry Enfields ‘Tim Nice But Dim ‘ would describe Sam as a ‘bloody nice chap !’
Bloody good fellow!
A good starting point for many Sam.... It's the next steps with AI that I think many will find very useful!
Yes, it will get interesting in the next few episodes!
I have never nor probably will be able to wrap my head around creating spreadsheets, but a fascinating watch Sam.
Oh there's always time!
Thanks Sam that was really interesting, looking forward to Part 2

It’s great to be able to weed out the cars that don’t match your criteria! Ramping it up on the next one

Let’s get Sam up to 10k
Oh gosh, that would be quite something! Perhaps to celebrate I’ll invite everyone to the Tally for a free knees up?
@@WattsOnCourt Ha ha. Actually think this is the first video you haven't made reference to going for "a pint"!
Shit! I need to do something about that!

Do you do the same process when choosing what beer to drink 🤔
I'm never fussy when it comes to a cold beer!
Any more videos in this series Sam?
They will come but I just haven’t had a second to breathe recently.
100K he’s brilliant

Give Sam a year and he'll be 'considerably richer than ...YOW!'
Must have clicked on Open University 😊😊
I’ll be handing out certificates!
Is there a price max purchase or retail car price applied to your trade insurance? Many thanks £1100 per annum sounds really cheap?
Yes, trade price at 11k, I may need to increase this slightly soon and will let you know the premium
Stop calling it AI😂
I'd love to call it something else!
