Outstanding as always but this blind was exceptional. Finally, a big blind of Syrah/Shiraz! I've been a Syrah/Shiraz fan for close to 20 years now and I don't think it gets its fare share of love. I'll drink a Syrah or Zin over a Cab most any day of the week. I feel they're a much better "bang for your buck" varietal. My current favorites are Horsepower, Pasxa, Two Hands, Holocene, Force Majeure, Zaca Mesa, Jim Berry & Terlato. Thank you for this long overdue blind & keep up the great work.

I attended a private Syrah/Shiraz tasting at a friends house in 1999. Old World vs New World!
New World flight was Grange 1981 and 1982; and Hill of Grace 1976.
Old World flight was La Landonne 1982, La Chapelle 1978 and Chave 1978(speak of the devil?)
We all agreed we preferred Old World wines(just personal tastes?)
Such a privilege to taste these amazing wines. It's so good to have good(wealthy) friends?

When people are willing to look past Cab, Syrah can really deliver, as you showed with the Borsão at $25. Thanks for giving love to one of our favorite varieties! (P.S. Some really interesting products that I was shown in the mid-stream ads. Nice that the ad quality is up there with your video quality.)

I've not had much Syrah outside of northern rhone syrah. I am however going to Australia in just a few days, so I think I will be having a lot of Shiraz in the next few weeks! very excited!

As a Syrah afficionado I am delighted with this tasting. France could have been a tad better represented, but I understand you want to cover a couple of continents in this video. Northern Rhône got expensive, so my go to syrah is Domaine de Piaugier Sablet Côtes-du-Rhône Villages Rêve de Marine La Syrah... a mouthful yes, not only on the label. It's 100 percent syrah, which is rare in the southern Rhône. But outside Europe really good syrah/shiraz I tasted (and can afford) are South-African wines (Badenhorst, Reyneke, Mullineux). It's happening there in Swartland.

It's cool that one of my favorites was in there, the Borsao Zarihs. I've had a few bottles and have a few more in the cellar (crawl space). When it goes on sale, like it is now near me, I get it for $22 US / bottle. I'm in Canada where liquor taxes are high so this video was a good reminder to go grab a couple more bottles at that $22 price!

Amazing tasting, I have to try the Borsao! Love Cosme, had a fantastic tasting there a few years ago. Their cote rotie is classic. Ramey's Rodgers Creek is by far my favorite in the US but haven't had Cayuse. Love Brokenwood's kat's block and graveyard in AUS, Craggy Range in NZ, Papargyriou in Greece, Karas volcanic syrah in Armenia, and everything N Rhone. Chave's Offerus just blew me away for the price recently

This is a brilliant variety with almost too many great examples to count though the most memorable Syrah I had recently was the Lumeo 2018. The power and intensity of flavour but contained with such elegance too made it such a special wine. The higher acidity from Tuscany also makes it great for lamb dishes with a touch more spice. The Kevin Arnold Shiraz is just the most brilliant Sunday roast wine and unbelievable value!

Love Syrah and love Cote Rotie ( more so than Hermitage...though great wines are to be found there).....Favourite producers: Levet, Giles Barge, Jamet, Rostaing and Jasmin. Saint Cosme is also a good source for Cote Rotie. and Syrah in general.....also the prices are usually nice (below the 65 € tag here in Europe). Geat video and much better tasting format! Keep it please!

I've not had much Syrah but last year's best QPR (for a red wine) was a Crozes-Hermitage by Darnaud from 2016, at 12.80€. I recently bought and drank it again and could confirm it was terrific. Beat a Côte-Rotie I had over Christmas that cost three times as much.

Great video, Syrah does get overlooked a lot. Too bad you couldn't get a Washington state Syrah in. But I understand it's a lot of work to get all these wines in and it takes a lot of time. So I appreciate the work and effort you put into this!

it funny that you put this out today. We just finished a bottle of Bedrock Syrah and couldn't have been more disappointed. Mostly due to the price tag vs quality. Single note on the aroma with a watery finish. If this wine was $12-13 then fine, but at $30 it is a never buy again
