I worked in Berkeley for a year… the majority of ppl there have no souls. No brains. NPCs and clowns. I call them zombies to their faces in all sorts of places. Trader Joe’s, on the street and they don’t react. They know they’re at the bottom of the survival-of-the-fittest chain and are too scared to stand up for themselves.

I'm 66 and don't know whether to laugh or cry anymore. What the hell happened to our country? Good luck children, you'll definitely need it. I can't imagine being an older Veteran and looking at the America we see today. The America we see today and the massive corruption of the elites controlling our government is why men with any level of testosterone (the kind that used to make the military the greatest in the world) will be, and are, less and less inclined to join the military.. Ok, what actually happened in the class chat was that I made a post about how I’m having a really hard time and how I could leverage my skills for the job market. Then some student answered normally and then went on a rant about dating. Then the professor responded to that student with the advice above.

Professor Shewchuk is correct and same goes for lack of datable men in Bay Area. They have had the masculinity beaten out of them and told repeatedly they are toxic. This is unacceptable. There are toxic people and nontoxic people. This wokeness is creating a growing mental health epidemic among men young and old.

He is a very good professor. After each 500 people lecture, he stayed till the end to answer everyone 1-1 question. He also is able to answer homework questions. ( usually many profs pushed their TAs to deal with these. Prof can’t do homework). His lecture is also well articulated, very well explained and smooth. His lectures notes are well written in clear and concise English ! He’s is my favorite Cal CS professor. He should have won a teaching award. Seriously !

The sad part is that the professer will probably be fired. He was asked an opinion-based question and all he did was give his opinion. I would hope the university uses common sense but I really doubt it. So much for free speech and these universities.

I've been "Foot loose and fancy free" since 1995 and loving it. I used to be a bit of a "Ladies Man" And "Dated" Quite a few women since breaking the shackles back in the day. But, Like you I have come to the conclusion that at this point in my life, Women are way more trouble than they are worth.
Now before I get blasted for saying that, It is merely my opinion. It's not meant to disrespect any woman, Anywhere.
I know there are a lot of good women out there, At 2 different times in my life I thought I was married to one of them,
And maybe I was. I have my own opinion about that, But who knows for sure.
Anyway, I just wanted to put my 2 cents in, For what it's worth.

I am a fairly educated person with a university degree and a great resume. In fact, looking at my resume, you would be shocked to learn I have a life-threatening illness. But many people with a mental illness are like that. We’re just like everyone else.
But you can bet your bottom dollar that if I applied for a fancy tech job and my employer Googled me and found all my writings, that I immediately would be put out of the running for the job. Why? Because my mental illness would have destroyed my credibility in the mind of the employer. It’s not fair, it’s not right, and, in fact, it’s not even legal, but it’s what happens in the real world

If we were honest, there is a TON of truth to that. I am in my 50s and been told men are Neanderthals etc despite the fact that men have invented and built virtually everything for modern society that women would never give up in a million years. Further though, I have literally noticed that men, as it turns out, are by far the biggest 'value' to society in virtually every way imaginable. We take care of and handle what is important and we think and act rationally vs emotionally and it doesn't take much to make us happy. If one really thinks about it, women and their modern-day attitudes and values have wrecked everything that has made the most happiness for humanity, which is traditional values and teamwork at home and raising kids with real values and work ethic and consequences for bad actions, etc
Women develop a list of what he must be to date. Men developing a list of what she can't be as a standard.

Yes, few straight men and they’re either very spoiled (still sampling and shopping around into their 80s) or terrible . On the other hand, most of us in San Francisco dress for comfort and warmth walking in the wind & fog to some distant parking space or bus stop.
