    Castle's stats look pretty bad but he looks like he's fitting in pretty well with the Spurs. Last night in the Minnesota game I wanted to smash the TV seeing Branham running point in the third and of course the Wolves go on a run when Branham can't even get the ball past halfcourt. Timeout and Castle is brought in to run the point and he calmed the team down, stopped the hemorrhaging, and got them to play at a steady pace again and quit rushing things which was causing stupid turnovers. I think worst case he'll be a rich man's Tre Jones. He just seems calm and understands pace and he's everywhere defensively. We're all very excited about Castle's potential in San Antonio.

    You know - it’s been disappointing but we knew it would be this way. However, I have been impressed with a few who have been better than I expected:
    1) Clingan. He’s going to be a Per-minute statistical beast. He’s still slightly out of shape, a little slow reaction timing and footwork wise, but yet still he’s been the one of the best rim protector prospects in recent memory. He’s shown confidence to stretch the floor too, which is crazy to see so early. Also - he’s been able to show a lot of flashes of passing creation as a hub. With the ~15 minutes per night he’s been getting he’s been blowing me away already, while knowing how much better he will be once he adapts to the game and gets in better shape.
    2) Ryan Dunn. He is taking pull-up threes and shooting insane percentages, when ALL of the scouting reports I saw about him were legitimately concerned he’d NEVER shoot. Or have any offensive game. In a re-draft, he might go top 10 if we knew he could shoot like this. That’s how special his defense is.
    Shoutout to Alex Sarr, Bub Carrington, Jared McCain, Stephon Castle, and Reed Shepherd with already proving a lot of the scouting wrong and improving a ton this early. I could care less about the percentages for shooting less than 10 games into their rookie season. They’ve all showed awesome things

    Sarr has been playing great. He's already showing that he is there defensively. At least 2 blocks a game in every game he has played in. Confidence is growing game by game. Just dropped 17 his last game and is showing flashes of being a great passer. With the minutes he is given, I can see him being ROY at the end. Funny enough, the only other person I can see winning that is on the same team as he is.

    I mean none of the top picks are even getting minutes and they are playing on already established teams…The top ten picks of this year’s class are only avg around 16 mins a game, compared to last year where the t10 picks avg around 24 mins a game. Look at B Millers production last year to this year and look at his minutes. This is why I say the league needs an expansion bad.

      @WARnTEA 24 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Its interesting that you mention Maxey because I'd argue the McCain is already better than Maxey as a Rookie, and when he irons out all of the Rookie mistakes. I wouldn't be surprised if he is better than Maxey in 1-2 years. He plays very similar to Brunson, and his shot will fall eventually because he has a very quick release with a high percentage in college, as well as nearly a 90% freethrow percentage in college, which is a good predictor of whether a player will be an efficient 3pt shooter.
      He also compliments Maxey, as McCain already has better playmaking and driving skills than Maxey. Despite being undersized they both put a lot of effort on the floor on defense and rebounding. Nurse planned to send McCain to the Gleague due to the large number of guards on the team, but that is obviously not happening now that he has earned minutes.

    • @ThatKidBoz
      @ThatKidBoz 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ yuh no I agree he definitely could and has the tools to but it goes back to exactly what I said give this class a few years to develop. It’s gonna come down to which teams are willing to be patient and give them time and who’s not. The teams that aren’t we are gonna have some Killian Hayes type of players and the teams that are we are gonna have some Deni Avidja, Lauri Markennen, Jokic, SGA, Giannas type of players. Obviously maybe not to that level and extent but just successful player developments.

      @WARnTEA 21 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@ThatKidBoz I think you misunderstood my message. I said that McCain is already better than the rookie version of Maxey. He is not better than the current Maxey.
      McCain would be a starter on a rebuilding team like the Spurs or Hornets. He came into the league fully developed and ready to cook. Like all rookies, he makes rookie mistakes, but there are no major holes in his game that would require development. At this point, he pretty much just needs playing time/experience for him to grow into a dominant player.
