Nice video, slightly low volume but i liked it :) I picked up a The Leinbach 16 disc, needs bearings, new discs, ,,,it is exactly like the one in the video before you show the one you purchased. I have ordered axle, end washers, and 20" disc 4.5mm - heavier to cut through. just about all the parts are in and time to pressure wash and paint. Living on Oregon coast has adverse weather right now how ever I look forward to using it. Thank you again for the video :)

Thank you for your information and taking the time out to watch the video. It sounds like you are going to have a very nice Disc Harrow that will last many years to come.

Growing up on the farm 35 years ago, we only had a '54 40-U with the bigger tires (13-26 rear, 6.00-16 fronts). That thing we would get the front end fairly light (sometimes front tires barely touching the ground) with 3-point attachments. We actually pulled a New Holland 256 square baler with it, and had a homemade utility trailer that we would load down big time with various things, and that little popper just kept popping. And no matter how cold it got, that little stinker would start and run.

Love that little 40, I'm in the process of bringing one back to life myself, mine's a trycicle with 38" rear wheels. When I get her done I'll start collecting a few implements for it. Good video.

I like your video it was very professional 👌
That was a nice peace of equipment you picked up , I was never a big fan of the three point disc's to me they never seemed to do a good job , but the one you got worked very well 👍 I hope I come across more of you videos in the future, you seem to be a very stand up person, lots of care go's into what you do and it shows, you have my respect 🙏

I just picked up a John Deere 3-point with 20 blades. It works real good smoothing out some land I have to plant some fruit trees. Nice video.

You should consider a 3pt quick hitch if your equipment is compatible. One more thing to help your back. Love the care you put into your equipment!

Your tractor is beautiful! I have a 1953 model 40, and a 1955 model 50, but neither look as great as that! Nice pickup on the disk harrow!

Dairle, great buy. I have seen a couple of 6.5 ft discs for sale up here in Michigan they range from $600 to $1,200 so I am holding off for a while. You got great results.

I Have a loader and a 6 foot box blade for my 40 and it works so good. the little 40 pulls a surprising amount of material with the box blade.

If I'm not mistaken that 40 has a governor to prevent it from over revving. Sounds like you're running your bottom plow and disk a little above idle. Lugging those engines isn't the best thing for them. They were designed to run at max throttle all day long. Love the tractor and my wife wants your garden lol
My tractor is a little bit smaller (20hp). So I have to pull a single bottom plow and a 4 or 5 foot disc

Yes, all tractors and equipment are designed to run at full throttle...especially diesels. You control the power and speed with gear selection and clutch usage. That is a fine little 40.

you should be proud of you're 40. I have a 40 just like yours (all original) bought new by my grandfather. it looks as though you're tractor has been converted to 12V? wouldn't mind hearing you talk a little about that. anyway, great video, great tractor. 👍

Hello From Mark In Ky. I really enjoyed seeing your John Deere being used as it was intended to be used rather than being a show piece. Wow I would love to check out all of the cool stuff that they have at the equipment dealership where you bought your discs.
Earlier this year I bought a couple of 110 John Deere garden tractors with one being a good running tractor and the other having been involved in a fire - But with potential. I also have two three digit vintage Cub Cadets that I have used to disc my garden back when I used to have one. Did you restore your John Deere tractor or did you buy it already restored. There’s nothing ever made that sounds like the “Popping Johnny’s” when they are at work. The modern tractors have lots of nice features - But like the newer vehicles, The tractors have too much electronic garbage to go wrong. Thanks for your great video.

One of these days you will scratch your trailer. It will look like it done some work. You may want to add some weight to your disc.
