Great pair. I am fortunate enough to attend two concerts of the godblessed duo in Visakhapatnam. I am looking forward to another visit by them. They are really really great.
9:26 to 10:10 seems to delve into Puriya Dhanashree/Pantuvarali/and bits of Hamsanandhi/Sohoni. Away from Vasantha. Lovely but confusing. Clarifications appreciated in advance.
@@rvinodh86 it is sruthi bedham around Dha. If you fix Dha as the starting note (equivalent of Sa) and then sing keeping that as the index note, Dha-Ni-ri-Ga-ma of vasantha becomes sa-Ri-Ga-Ma-Pa scale! It is pretty difficult to master this for a ragam like vasantha.. They have done it very beautifully. I dont think it is any particular ragam, that was my sense. May be I am wrong.
To me that appears to work out to a transformation S, R, G, P,d and S. That movement can be described as janya from a Latangi Mela. Notice the R and G are chatushruti but the dha is dvishruti ie komala swaram. Swarasthana bedham does not work in a similar manner as Vasantha is an audhava-shadhava vakra ragam.! The shift to Hamsanandhi is a simple shudha M to Prati M shilft of half a tone or two shrutis. Both ragams are Panchama varjeeyam (ie absent). I am not entirely sure what the singers were trying here. It sounded good though. I am not an expert, but was lucky to be around great musicians like Semangudi Srinivasan Iyer and Prof S Ramanathan when young, who were family friends.
Sowmya Venkataraman this can be understood by only few people.thats the reason video has only few views.to listen such music you should have ability to understand.

No words can be employed to explain the beauty of the song and rendition by masters Trichur brothers
You both are just great. Listening to your rendering Vasantha Raga in the silent

excellent
So enervating. You two will scale great heights.
You couldn't have meant "enervating"
which means "weakening"! Perhaps you meant invigorating.
sooper
How could someone dislike this?!

Have the same q.. Their rendition takes it to a higher plane .
Ears & sensibility cultivated over years are needed to appreciate good classical music. Many lack these and punch Thumbs down!
