This is the highest praise that Baz or Austin Butler could ever receive. Seen the movie three times already....this movie is engrossing.....I dare anyone to watch this movie and not experience chills and tears. GREAT movie.

I was absolutely blown away by the movie and it’s great to hear that. Priscilla herself enjoyed it so much. I have an unmeasurable amount of respect and genuine appreciation for Austin Butler, he truly did the king justice

    - - - - - there's no shortage of black support for Elvis - - - -
...... So many folks spoke up for him: Al Green, BBKing, Jackie Wilson (whom he paid for his operation), Fats Domino, Chuck Berry, Sammy Davis, Bobby Womack, Rufus Thomas, etc, etc etc
But needing to find people of color to speak up for him creates the expectation that anyone accused of the Big -R to give him a pass, as if he were automatically guilty, and cannot be absolved without someone to say "he's ok."

    - - - Phenomenal movie. I will see it a 2nd time this week! BUT....
there is a flaw in the film. Baz is only showing Elvis as being influenced only by Blues Music, which is most definitely false.
Elvis grew up in the 1930s & 1940s listening to Country Music, especially living in Tupelo & Memphis. Hank Williams & Hank Snow were most important in Elvis' musical life.
Likewise, Bluegrass Music was a monster influence on Elvis. If you never heard FOGGY MOUNTAIN BREAKDOWN by Flatt & Scruggs, you must do so right now on TH-cam. It shows you where Elvis got the fire in his music.
As a kid in the 30s/40s, he spent his time in the Movie Theater watching his favorite Western Singing Cowboys of the Cinema... Roy Rogers & Gene Autry were influences in Elvis music.
During this time, Big Band Music, namely Glen Miller, Tommy Dorsey, and the Andrew Sisters were the kings of that period. Listen to Glen's IN THE MOOD, and treat youself.
Finally, Pop Ballad Singers like DEAN MARTIN (Elvis' idol and biggest influence) and Bing Crosby ruled the charts. Listen to Dean's Memories are made of these, and you can hear Elvis vocal style in it.
From Elvis' very first recordings at Sun Studios (1953-55) he sang many genres yet Baz threw them all out and showed only the Blues influences in his life. What a shame, because Elvis greatest strengt was his ability to do any music style and most times make you forget the original artist who did the song!

Priscilla married who she wanted, if you aren't happy with your husband. You can divorce but not go and cheat on him, specially not with his karate instructor. So did you marry this karate guy. No you just had a affair behind your husband's back. So horrible no moral. Dosent matter how many movies you do.

When it comes down to it, yeah looks matter. But I think Austin did an incredible job mimicking Elvis' mannerisms and cadence! There might have been other actors who would have fit the look better, but wouldn't be able to behave like Elvis as well as Austin did.
