Timing starts on the input that takes you to the backyard and ends on the frame the jaws close after the last zone is completed.
    Recorded on 10/08/2023
This was from a "All Certificates" attempt, where you clear all zones on each difficulty. For some reason, entering Quarry on the last difficulty in the run crashes the game. I finished a run before that didn't do this, but lost the recording.
Played on Windows 10 with dgvoodoo2.

I remember I used to like playing this game when I was a kid. I could've sworn that the machines were way slower on Windows 95, but I also might have just not moved my mouse fast enough. Funny to see such a recent speedrun of it.

I have no experience with this game, but it was very common for games of the time to tie a lot of its logic to the frame rate for a host of reasons, which means that when the framerate increases, so does the loops of logic execution, which means things that move at a fixed speed all of a sudden move at that fixed speed more times in a second than they used to, effectively making the fixed speed greater at least in perception. One such reason this happened a lot is that games back then were either developed for consoles which have preset hardware and will never be subject to these loop excess cases OR they were developed for PCs with less ability to detect and adapt to modified hardware setups and assumed to target whatever setups were on-hand to test at the development studio, usually whatever was mid-range for the time. That's not to say it was impossible to untie logic from the framerate in the era as plenty of games achieve this, but without a decompile or the source code itself I couldn't tell you how they did this and maintained good performance.

@@TheRulerOfOats I am aware of that possibility, though in most of the cases I've seen (not all), the speedup goes to ridiculous proportions and the game is basically unplayable. Maybe that is what's happening here, or maybe it was just me being 5 or something. I'd have to get out one of my old computers to test it for sure.
