- Documenting my day in the life of an electrical engineering PhD researcher. If you're an electrical engineering student, or would like to see a day in the life of an electrical engineering student, this video is good!
My name is Ali Alqaraghuli, I'm a postdoctoral fellow at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory. This video was my last day as a PhD student at Northeastern University. It was well worth documenting.

I love your Discrod!!
haha just fixed it thanks @@billiejean1982
Sick routine, improving everyday and working on something you love. Keeping the relationship strong with God aswell, want this for my future.
Spot on! Thank you :)
Dude thank you so much for these videos. I’m a sophomore at GA Southern going for electrical engineering but I’m not quite sure what I want to do with it and you’re videos are really helping me out!
Bro that’s crazy I just randomly started attending church & events, it feels great to be honest!
Also good to see an upload again, still watch your OG videos haha it’s been a minute but hope all is well!
I enjoyed how this video was laid out, and your routine as well. Keep up the good work man.
Thank you :)
Actually a good day in the life engineering video. loved it.
Ali, this is great man. This is educational and quite inspiring. Hope you all the best man, keep up the great work.♥💙 I believe you're on a roll this upcoming year.🔥🔥
Thank you! Plan is to post many videos, let's see!
I like dis guy, one of the reasons ive looked into EE myself
Going to school next year for a bachelors in EE, I will see where I end up at the end of my degree to either pursue a masters or dual major in another engineering discipline, thank you for the fascinating video that only excites me for what is to come :)
Loved your mini vlog! It totally captured the vibe. Keep going, and good luck!
Thank you so much!!
I am also very interested in high frequency circuits. But kinda clueless about how to efficiently learn RF systems design. I'd really appreciate if you decide to make videos related to your area in the future!
Ive watched this video like 10 times. I'm currently a sophomore electrical and computer engineer, ALI I love your videos but these kinda adventurous vlog like electrical engineering videos need to come more. Very inspiring and entertaining stuff, from the music to even the audio on the mic. Good stuff man.
Thanks for the input! Glad you enjoyed
great video gives me inspiration in pursuing my dream
i want this life
you can create a better one
Research very cool. I do undergraduate research for additive manufacturing and am enjoying it
Keep going Ali, I only managed to finished at degree level
You're back finally
i like your video style it is so cool
Is it possible to use wind or solar energy to generate heat by spinning turbines and generate twice as much electricity as solar or wind energy?
thanks for uploading! full support
thank you :)
Super High Quality content my guy 👌🏽
Thanks a lot!
Thanks for sharing it. You're a huge fan of Jobs, huh? Some easter eggs from his Cambridge speech. Good luck with your projects and studies.
yes love steve jobs! thank you!
So inspiring😊
sick video
If you don't go to school with a custom made ebike, not a true electrical engineer
lol
I love wat you do , it’s interesting and I love that you still put God and gratitude on top❣️
Finally a real Engineering Video
Love it
Great I'm engineer too i like ur video making how u use this whats this software thx
Wow!
Awesome
Awesome video thanks for sharing Ali! Cool insight in this upcoming tech🔥 would be very interesting to hear more about your faith in god and why you believe too
its more of a logical thing. Life is too overwhelming to go through on your own. Having faith in something greater just removes weight off your shoulders and allows you to follow your intuition and act in faith. I learned this from steve jobs, phil knight, elon musk etc.
inspiring
Hi bro, I have a question, do you think computer and control engineering which is a branch of electrical engineering is a good branch to choose ? I know that it depends on my interests and but I also wanted to ask you, thanks for answering❤
It's an excellent branch -- choose the field you are most interested in, that way you can innovate in it
Glad to see your move to Massachusetts from Upstate NY! I am taking in a lot of inspiration from you, and I am currently considering two career paths: Physician (Surgeon) or an Electrical Engineering PhD (with a focus on AI, since I am interested in that, but going into industry). I think you faced a similar dilemma, so it was interesting to see your video on that. I, on the other hand, have no problem with memorization, but I also like Physics and have an interest in technology. Your project is very cool though, God knows we need that high-speed Internet. Do you plan on staying in academia or going into industry later on?
I'm working as a postdoc at NASA now, I don't think academia is for me, I need to work on more immediate direct-impact work
I’m in the same position. Its so difficult.Starting CE in about 50 days.
dude only because AI is a trend you dont have to pick it. However strong AI is teached in Mathematics and Informatics.
@@user-ms7xn3sf1t I don't think AI is just a trend though, it's rapidly developing, and large companies are putting in a lot of money for AI research and development. I might pick it because I am amazed by it, and amazed by what it might be able to do in the future. If I do pick it, I'd like to be more on the hardware side though regarding AI (such as robotics), which is why I thought about going with EE.
Inspiring 💫 not the routine😂 but the work!
How do you like the area? I'm currently considering a job offer in the SATCOM domain in the Boston area and was wondering what your experience was like.
I like it a lot, but I actually just moved to LA to start a postdoc at NASA
i am an Electrical Engineering student but i am in kenya and your videos inspires me alot ......current i am a sophomore
How is Electrical Engineering, I am going to persue engg this year but I am a bit confused btw EE and ECE, is it interesting to study in that as I am interested in electric equipments and electronics
Crompton fan may electronic controler use karne se slow may rakkenge tho chir chir awaz aatha hi.full speed may rakenge tho ok jaltha hi.kya problem ho saktha hi or consa company ka regulator lagana chayeye.pl help me.
wth
Ayo Ali i have a question, Does Electrical engineering give you the foundation to start and make your own battery manufacturing company . I know the skillset of learning and problem solving skills can be transferred but what about the knowledge to make batteries?
100%
@@alithedazzling More excited to start EE this year , happy new year by the way 😹🎉
240GHz is insane! Would love to hear/read about the challenges with that. I imagine there are a lot of them 😂
absolutely! very nice videos btw, I would strongly encourage you improve your audio -- there's a $60 maono mic I use on amazon that is USB, it will make your videos 10x more professional
@@alithedazzling Thank you! Much appreciated. Yes I've come to realize this.. better late than never 😅 We have one video backlogged then all of them after that should be better!
Understand everything you are doing here. Would love to be in your shoes!
You can do it!
Great video Ali!
Do you edit them yourself?
Yes!
@@alithedazzling That's Great. I'm a video editor and will help you edit them for you. So you can save your time as well.I can share my portfolio too.Let me know we can connect (:
Looks like you love your job man
I do, I don't love everything about it, attitude is a big part of it, but overall its an amazing job
@@alithedazzling I’m almost done with my degree, I want to do circuit design. It’s not a lot of jobs like that here in Colorado
how much power were you pushing through the transmitter to achieve communication at the distance shown in the lab?
With the distance shown in the lab very little is required, the range can vary from few milliwatts to 100 milliwats based on which modulation scheme/SNR is needed
@@alithedazzling thank you, that's very interesting!
I am working as a team member(Communication and ground station) in Student Satellite team in India. This video made my day and I was shocked to see 240Ghz carrier frequency. Can you share your linkedin page? Would be glad to get connected with you
Sure my linkedin is Ali Alqaraghuli
hi just wondering im in my senior year of high school, bored, so i wanted to ask anything i should learn right now that will help in my future for electrical engineering, like a concept or class i could/should learn rn
watch YT videos about the topics, technical ones, see if you are curious about them
veritasium is a great channel to get started
@@alithedazzlingyeah I love veritasium, and will do
do you think that getting a phd really makes you overqualified for a lot of jobs in engineering and employers wont risk hiring you ?
yes but my goal isn't just to get "a job" -- I knew I wanted to do something relating to research
240GHz ?
Very creative ❤
Thank you! 😊
Welcome Back
Thanks!
😍👍
New video at last 🎉🎉
i think you didn't put the discord link by mistake 😅
should be there now!
Which company are you working
I am also pursuing EEE
nasa JPL
@@alithedazzling your channel is inspiring me a lot
👍👏
can you give a link to your phd thesis
It's not posted yet, but will do as soon as it is!
then may i ask how did you finish your phd in such a short period in 3 years@@alithedazzling
@@laifiyazid9257 I already knew my topic from first year, and my masters already had phd research involved with it
Ali I swear it feels like you’ve been doing your PhD forever😂 but keep up the hard work you’ve been super inspirational!
Hahaha it has been forever, I am done tho! Started at NASA last month -- this video was shot a while back in boston
