I love how Matt and Tim always say they love to keep it simple as they pull out 6 different categories, 2 styles in each category, and 3 different colors of each.. here's 36 different options.... gotta love it
@@tacticalbassin haha I’d love to see the complicated version. Go lay the wood for us because here in CA we are all still recovering from these atmospheric rivers. Bite has been very tough .
Would love to see a new swimbait review soon. I know there has been some swimbaits come up on the new item page that I’m sure you guys had to have got. The Imakatsu Lazy swimmer and the owner burikin are two I’m interested in. The new Nacho looks cool too. Like a little baseball with a tail
I hope the atv square bill is everything you say cause that’s gonna be my co angler moving bait. It pays to have baits that are hard to snag up. I have no doubt that your not wrong though. You two are the greatest.

Hello guys and gals, my wife and I really love your program. I'm in my mid 80's and always fished and loved the outdoors. We live in Colorado and our summers are very short. So, since we are retired we no longer get out. Making this short you all take us with you on your great video's. Yes! Just like being out there with you so we are always looking forward to the next one. Keep up the wonderful trips and be safe. Love you all! James and Inga Smith!
GOOOOOOOOD MORNIIN' EVERYBODY!!! Yeah, I know its Monday, thought Id try and brighten the mood a little bit. Talked to a guy in his 70's yesterday doing the hmmm thing on a flash mob jr. He said he had never seen or used one. Told him flat out, get it, go to Tactical Bassin A Rigs on youtube, these guys are no non-sense and in my opinion the best teachers in the business. We stood in the fishing section for 30 mins watchin yall🤣. He subscribed right there. Great subject today Matt, will apply as soon as I can get out there.
Love you videos. You 2 have helped me out so much with my video content. Plus using your TECHNIQUES have gotten me my 1st MLF WIN as a Co-Angler. And it was my 1st event ever as well. You guys have been a huge help
I use those shimano jerkbaits and I LOVE them. I work a jerkbait at least try everywhere and 50% of the time i get one at least. Shimano did real good there
Even though the mission was not completed, I still learned a lot. Tyler thank you for the information and your lake breakdown idea of trying the median size creek first. I will use this in my future fishing trips.
Thanks!! This was perfect timing. I'm taking my Yak out for the first time this year on Saturday. Been studying the lake map and watching your older videos for how to read a lake map (from when you first moved to Tennessee) I've got a plan in place now and I'm so pumped to get out there. Fishem hard boys!
Thank you, Matt; these "seasonal" videos have to be difficult given the geographic diversity of your audience, but I think you did a great job of explaining how to formulate a plan whenever spring actually arrives in your area. My part of Florida was spared any prolonged "cold" spells this year, and fishing has been quite good for me as a result. There's only so much water I can cover from the bank, so it's mainly been soft plastics (sticks and tricks have been very good) and jigs. Hoping that spring arrives soon for everyone, and good luck out there!
Matt, I really like how you explain your knowledge of the transitions That Bass make oh, I've been watching you guys for years and my bass fishing has gone from Catching many fish 2 tons of fish and I can't say enough how much I appreciate it thanks and keep it up guys you're doing a great job love watching your videos.
I live in California in the PNW on the coast about an hour and a half below the Oregon border. We have this freshwater lagoon in this series of lagoons, that is the only lagoon out of the 3 that is freshwater and not brackish because it never breaches with the ocean like the other two do, even though it is literally 50 yards away, like the 101 is down to two lanes at this point, and the lagoon is on one side, the ocean on the other. All that to say there are bass in it, the one place close to bass fish, other nearest is 3 HR drive away. The lagoon cooler most of the year, as the temperature outside never goes higher that 80, and it's windy, and there is just a little bit of grass and a little bit of toolies here and there, basically no structure, as the bottom just goes down like a bowl. I cannot find the fish anywhere. The are trout in the lagoon and very few blue gill, and catfish in this lagoon, and that is all as far as food that I know of, maybe crawfish. Tried jigs, cranks, lipless, square bills, spinners, chatter baits, senko, jerks, literally everything, shallow and deep, no luck so all. Water can't be any higher than 58-60 degrees. It's actually pretty pressured, as again it's the only water with bass in it for a good distance. It's called freshwater lagoon. Any help would be very appreciated
One angle I haven’t heard you guys touch upon is tidal waters and how it affects how bass move and feed. Living near the Chesapeake Bay and trying to understand it has me frustrated with how hit and miss it can be. Thank you for all your content. You guys really are the best.
Another absolutely great video Matt, you described exactly what has been happening on my waters yo a T. Been using Red-eye Shad, 1/4 oz Cotton Cordell Super Spot, Zoom Speed Shad in S Africa and have been killing them now for 2 months. They are just now moving into spawning spots and settling in. Thanks for another on the money video.
Speaking on a lipless bite. When I lived in Indiana, we'd go out this time of year and absolutely burn a Rattle-Trap. Back when I was there, the ice stayed in for much longer than it does now. A few weeks after ice out, it was the deal. I'm sure it still works to this day. Those fish get shallow on sunny days taking advantage of the warmth of the sun hitting a dark bottom. We'd catch em from 2-4 ft deep with the Rattle-Traps. I'm sure there are much better lipless options to use for that now, but if all else fails that RT gets bit up north this time of spring.
Great tips Matt, really appreciate it the work you guys do and look forward to this CA weather cooperating so we can get the fish to cooperate as well for pre-spawn!
Love this video. Thank you Matt and Tim you guys are always giving us great information. I have definitely implemented some of the info you guys have given and it’s worked or helped me become a better angler. You guys rock.
I’m not sure where to start on my home lake, Lake Norman, in NC. It’s a huge lake and a lot of it looks good. Y’all should come over and show us how it’s done.
Y'all need to start a new series where you take your talent on the road to hard and overpressured waters... would be an interesting challenge yeeewww 🔥🎣💯🤙💪
Great video Matt. Seems like it’s been so warm this year that we have fish already on beds here in va. Just caught a 7.85 2 days ago and she had a little tail ware. Thanks for the information!
Do you see the effect of Bass Tournaments catching bass and driving them long distances away to a weigh-in location from where they were staged in good numbers to spawn?
Hope that you guys see this. I will be going camping and fishing a smaller lake called Rocky Mountain PFA in Rome, GA. The lake is a shallower lakes with the deep spots only getting about 30 to 35 feet and not really having many secrondary points just main points with some shallow coves and standing timber. Any tips for trying to catch fish there as the water will be warming up the whole week?
Great video! I often wonder about the applicability of bass fishing videos to lakes in my area. I live in Western Washington state and fish for small mouth in a man made impoundment called Lake Tapps. I would be thrilled to hear what you think about Tapps Matt. I recently upgraded my boat to a 20' and I can't wait to smash some big small mouth this season. Thanks
Hey Matt and Tim! Always look forward to a new video throughout the week from you guys! I really want to get into crankbait fishing in ponds and I got a lot of super shallow 0-3 ft squarebills. The bottom of most places I fish are usually all mud or slime with some rocks. I keep getting hung up and end up losing so many baits which is normal I guess for bank anglers but I want to build confidence in them. What types of retrieves or modifications do you recommend? Thanks!
Can you comment on the positioning for the prespawn and spawn for fish in tidal rivers? An example of a tidal river is the Hudson River. I imagine that the CA Delta is also a tidal river.
I would love some help on Nickajack lake! My dad and uncle are visiting for the next 10days for the pre spawn. We spent 8 hours today around and south of 24 with just a couple 2.5 pounders to show. Water temps was anywhere from 54-58 depending on what cove. Any help at all???? Please help.
Could you please look at these 3 pics of wallenpaupac lake and give me a opinion of a few places to go this spring or summer to go to to find large mouth in this mostly smallmouth lake.
How about a vid on shallow rez with blasted rock bottom and dead heads everywhere. If you touch bottom your lure is gone. Lac des quinze northern Quebec specifically lol. We bought kayaks a few years back cause the water level changes 3 feet up or down in a week.
Hi you guys are great we fish the same waters and I been trying to get a better grasp on targeting throughout the year and were coming into the most active time of year as far as I'm aware. So I also watched Tim's video on spring bass locations and now have a few questions about Richland creek dayton tn. I hear you both talk about points and lowlands and different terms. So what is richland creek and how do I decide what I'm in as far as a lowlands or a delta. Next question is does fishing in these different types of areas affect where they decide to stop or hang around I looked at a topographical map like Tim said and marked a few places I believe would be spots to try but dont know if I fully understand all the points and secondary points would love any help or advice that you could give on Richland creek area thanks again for the help you guys put out here.
I plan on fishing this local lake this year which was once an old quarry. Small and has extremely clear water with largemouth of all sizes. My plan is to throw bigger swimbaits. Should I throw more natural tones or something with more pop to it. Brighter bolder colors? Thank you 🙏
Where are they on Chick right now? I've tried them suspending, lay downs, back of slues, I'm kayak fishing out of a Titan12. 3 evenings a week???? Just need to find em, seems like they're gone?
