    I was born with a cleft palate and am constantly grateful for the amazing care I received from my surgeons, orthodontists and speech therapists. And of course, grateful to my parents for taking care of me too. I'm sure Chouchou is JUST as grateful to have you in his life to take care of him. Not everyone is so lucky. Thank you for taking care of him!!! How wonderful.

      @@aishahowasis8484 Considering that Hannah doesn't want any more cats of her own, it would be bad. Let's support Hannah in helping Chou-Chou to get him in an adoptable condition and to a great home away from her.

    • @Jazzyjaz420
      @Jazzyjaz420 2 ปีที่แล้ว +28

      @Storm Arashi Fergie was originally going to be o be a hospice kitten because there wasn't much hope in him actually beating the odds given his struggle in the beginning. I mean Fergie was in the best hands possible so the likelihood of him surviving was better. He's a fighter and so is Hannah,now Fergie can be the furry foster brother/parent. It is amazing that Fergie survived and is doing as well as he is. As far as chouchou he will be with Hannah for much longer due to his cleft palate. It's basically the same thing as any other kitten because she is preparing him for life, it's just that he needs a bit extra time to prepare. Sound alike she is going to try and get his palate fixed before finding a home.

    Wow. So basically the vet has to frankenstein his upper jaw and palate to give him the best possible chance. Even then, he ain't gonna be normal ever. But he's happy and squirmy right now. Never knew the love...just to give a kitten a fighting chance. What a commitment! Thank you Kitten Lady.

    I know how much long term care a medically fragile cleft palate kitten needs and how difficult and exhausting constant tube feeding can be after watching the cleft palate kitten Aura at Canada's Tiny Kitten HQ rescue. That kitten needed a bone graft to close her palate and had to have additional surgery to close a hole that appeared. Congratulations to you all for having the emotional stamina to care for these kittens.

    • @jaynestrange
      @jaynestrange 2 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      Yeah, I was thinking about Aura too! If anyone is worrying about what ChouChou may have in store, you may be pleased to know that Aura is a full grown, happy, energetic cat. While every kitten is different & ChouChou will probably have a very different medical journey, it's nice to see that even a very severe cleft palate doesn't have to stop a cat from living a fun life.

      When I was a kid, there was a family next door whose older daughter had a very bad cleft palate and lip. She had surgeries but they didn't do a great job, this was around 1960. My mom told me how her mother had to squirt formula down her throat with a dropper. They didn't tube feed at home back then. The baby cried almost nonstop 24/7 because she was so hungry all the time. They couldn't keep their windows open in the summer.

    Whenever I see Chouchou I gain strength. I live with a complicated condition that strangely enough can also be found in cats, that is Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. In my case if it weren't for physical therapy at the beginning I would have end up in a wheelchair way earlier than I did (I had to start using one just last week and is only while I heal from a few vertebrae subluxation) was donated from my grandpa. Whenever I feel down, tired or in a huge amount of pain as soon as I wake up, I immediately go to Hannah's IG to see how Chou Chou is doing or just rewatch this videos and gain strength.

    He's such a sweet kitty and so lucky to have you😻😻. I watch another rescue channel where a man found a kitten just like this one dumped at a park on a freezing cold day. The kitten saw him and ran after him so naturally he swooped up the baby kitten and took her home. He found out the kitten who looks to be the same breed, had a broken jaw. He kept the kitten so she's very well taken care of. He actually owns four disabled cats while still taking care of thousands of stray animals. Anyhow, it's sad people breed these cats when things can go so horribly wrong with them. At least the owners took the kitten to the hospital rather than dumping the poor thing. He's already got such a great start with you💖💖💖💖

    This reminds me of… me. I had a cleft palette, I had surgery. I was about to have two… So I relate to fuzzy Chouchou. HE IS ADORABLE!

    Chouchou is a littIe floof cloud! Too cute! I'm glad that he's doing so well and there're options for his cleft palate.

    Dr. Woody is the best! She did surgery on our cat and he’s got a new lease on life. 💜

    Healing secondary intention in the mouth is going to be interesting... Thank goodness those tissues heal quickly! I would be so nervous the whole time. I'm glad he has such a wonderful care team, and I am looking forward to updates! Hoping for the best for the little guy!

    Chouchou is so sweet & adorable!! I wish him the best with his future procedure, & a quick recovery💜🐱💜 So glad you are able to help these precious kitties, because you are such a blessing in this cruel world. Helping stray, feral & homeless cats & kittens is soooo rewarding because they show you their appreciation & that they love & need you🥰😽😻

    Thank you for sharing this. The vet is amazing and did an awesome job putting a complex procedure in lay terms for (most importantly) you and (secondarily) Chouchou's fan club online!! He's such a happy little floof and his crunchy purr is so sweet. Looking forward to following his development! Thank you again!!
